RATING 4.5?
WTF
Just updated to final release on my N1. I can't really see any differences between this release and the beta I was running previously.
Yay for all the N1 users but I still don't even have Froyo on my original Droid and its pissing me off >_< Engadget first said that users would get it "by the end of the week", that week came and went and nothing for me. THEN they had their article that it was "finally trickling out", well great, it still never got to me. THEN the article about Verizon and Motorola releasing a second Froyo update with some fixes for the original Droid. Well that's nice and all but how about they hurry up and finish releasing the first update to everyone!! I'm so close to rooting my phone but don't want to void my warranty ):
@yader91 Look into if your droid can be rooted without unlocking bootloader. I've seen on forums this is what people are doing now to keep warranty untouched, since root without bootloader unlock is reversible.
Wow this new version is a big improvement. Sites running flash banners are still silky smooth when i'm scrolling around and zooming. This is how mobile browsing should be!
Incidentally, even if you have this installed, the option to use plugins in the browser can be set to On Demand whereupon Flash only runs if you click on the icon where the Flash item would normally be running it.
Be sure to hit up Kongregrate . com for many flash games optimized for mobile play.
I love my nexus, but I only use flash for online games and streaming shows in bed when I can't fall asleep. But maybe I take that for granted..
Damn, what is with the every increasing iPhone vs. Android-phones-in-general pissing contest? I for one am glad there is an iPhone and that there are Android phones and Symbian phones etc etc. The only thing absolute dominance of one standard does is decrease pressure to innovate.
where is "Frash" 10.1?... lol my Jailbroken iPhone 4 needs it.. haha
Well I have frash so you can't rub it in as much. But I guess you could argue that I had to jailbreak to get it but still, I prefer ios over android simply because I feel that everything is smoother and that things flow nicely.
funny that nexus one is discontinued, nice catching up though adobe, just one generation behind
Owners of Google Android -based devices are jubilant. Today they received a long-awaited Adobe Flash update that allows them to view Flash-enabled websites from their smartphones. And, supposedly mock iPhone users who do not have Flash and will not have it anytime soon in the foreseeable future.
My question is: and so? What's the big deal?! I mean, why one Earth would someone suddenly crave for Flash animation while browsing the Web from a phone? To view flashing (pardon the pun) ads? Thanks a lot, but I'm fed up with it on my PC. I have to install banner blockers to keep annoying ads at bay, that's how much I "can't wait" to see another ad (note the sarcasm). So why would I want the same on my phone?
And the strangest thing about it is that the absence of Flash on my iPhone doesn't limit me in any way. I can still watch YouTube videos and my Hotmail looks stunning in the mobile Safari browser.
So what is it all about? I seriously don't get it.
Flash fans keep saying something about "cool animation effects" and "rich browsing experience" when in truth, when it comes to phones, everything is about apps these days and not sophisticated web pages.
So tell me, please: why on Earth would I want Flash so bad I would be pratically banging on Apple HQ doors, demanding it? Because it sure feels like some people can't live without it on their phones.
Hummm
No flash player for Moto Milestone (yet?).
