New Exilim golf-friendly digicam hitting Japan; the Pro from Dazaifu never had it so good
Golf fanatics will stop at nothing in pursuit of upping their game, and as you know, all sorts of gadgets have been modified to suit their purposes, from PNDs to digicams. Apparently Casio's Exilim line has been a favorite, and now its golf-centric camera is getting something of a spec bump. The Exilim EX-FC160S sports a 10 megapixel backside illuminated sensor, 5x optical zoom at 37mm, and support for 240fps video with an optional 30fps slow-motion playback. Available in Japan come August 27, in a limited production run of 5,000 units.

Golfing cameras? Next they'll have bespoke clubs!
Man I would say "first", but why can't this thing come to the US? I would love to have this for a "super" point and shoot
Glad that we're seeing companies scaling back the MP (10MP) and use the backside illuminated sensor. I was kinda tired of the MP race to 14MP on compacts.
They have also released the Exilim feature-phone featuring 13-megapixel for the summer models. Now, we do not know which is which, a phone with camera or camera with phone.
Im mad with casio right now, bougth a camera from them in march, and the video is crap, and now, the microphone doesnt work at all, i have to do voice overs in imovie WTH? this is my second casio camera, so i have experience using them. make sure that this camera or a camera u want to buy records movies in .AVI because that crap uses a crapload of space and takes forever to upload onto youtube.
@Sil
You actually do voice overs for youtube videos?
Would be pretty nice for my sextapes =)
Why Dazaifu?
@num0 The "Pro From Dover" is a golf reference (actually, a reference to the movie M*A*S*H). I moved the pro to Japan!
@Joseph L Flatley
Thanks :)
I swear by the Exilim line. It's a really good camera, with more features than you can shake a shutter at. It seems like I find something new about it every time I pick it up.
This looks exactly like my Exilim EX-FC100, except in red. Takes decent photos, but the high speed stuff is really pretty gimmicky. The UI could really use some help as well.
