We can all agree that some fresh product is desperately overdue out of Sunnyvale, so the eternal optimists in us want to believe that the departure of the
Pre Plus from Verizon's and AT&T's warehouses right now means that we can expect new goodies soon. Of course, it's entirely possible that the two carriers just happened to run out of phones at the same time and that fresh batches are on their way, so it's too early to say these phones are out for the count; then again, when you consider that Sprint somehow
still sells the Centro, anything's possible. For what it's worth, both carriers' stores are still stocking the phones, so if you absolutely must have a Pre Plus
right now, you're in luck -- you're just going to have to put on something besides your underwear and leave the house to get it. Sorry!
@voodoochild
Well, wipe it off and keep your eyes open next time.
The Centro still lives? So like Palm still supplies them or they have so much stock that they havent gone out of stock for more than 2 years?!?!? AND PEOPLE ARE STILL BUYING IT!?!?!??!??
New pre slider with a bigger screen , bigger keys, higher res cam
A few months ago the story was they had piles of backlog in the channel they'd never sell, at least it's good news that it's (mostly?) sold out.
+zillion on new hardware
Sprint isn't selling new Centro's the ones they have are refurbished ones.
Just hope the whole original Pre stock (new/refurbished) burns to ashes so Sprint either goes Pre Plus or new hardware... could switch my 1 year old Pre for the free Pre Plus I got lying around...
Webos needs an update and a new phone, that being said its a much more refined/better os than anything out there.....sent from my overpriced underpreforming droid x
It means that AT&T have returned the remainding stock to get some credit back from HP.
WebOS 2.0 here we come...
I was just at a AT&T store and the Palm phones are on display.
HP PalmPaq
it meas palm pre ultimate is going to be released.
@FrankJL9 nope that died with palm
prepare for the hp-paq-TUL79hg243
I know that VZW is selling the Pre Plus for $29.99 with a two year contract and the Plus phone hasn't even been out a whole year. It has fallen a lot in price. It seems it isn't a phone VZW cares to back all that much as price drops and BOGO phones are usually slated for devices that need a kick start to even get them to sell.
Our long nightmare is over.
What does it all mean, Basil?
As much as I want to see WebOS 2.0 and new hardware, I don't believe that's what is happening. Probably the two carriers have decided to stop selling the phone online, will continue to sell stock only in stores until depleted and then drop the phone all together.
Prove me wrong HPalm, prove me wrong.
Maybe it means that is out of stock.
Back in stock at Verizon. :(
It means all the Sprint customers are buying them at dirt cheap prices to upgrade their original hardware.
There is nothing wrong with my, I mean THE Centro!
"what does it mean?"
it means a beautiful OS is history.
Its definitely getting to that point that new hardware would definitely be welcome. I Love WebOS but having it on hardware like the Evo combined with the torch would be highly satisfying and possibly the best phone in the world.
It means no one gives a rats and they aren't selling.
@grilla how kin you say that about my courier
HPalm needs to rip off Dell and make a Lightning clone with WebOS 2.0 on it. That would sell. A 4" portrait slider would be exactly what everyone would want to see from them. Make it happen guys.
At my local Verizon store, I was able to determine, with great difficulty, that the Palm Pre was less costly per month than the Novatel mi-fi, although the phone cost $100 and the mifi $20 with a plan. So why buy the mifi since you get both in the Pre?
Currently the Pixi is also out of stock on ATT!! hoping tomorrow brings big news!
HP has a quarterly earnings report on 8/19 or 8/20. It would be reasonable to hear more about future releases then. Considering how many different devices Web OS could be used for HP may be able to create an ecosystem that rivals Apple, Google or Microsoft.
THE WHOLE POST IS RIDICULOUS. READ THIS:
