Onyx develops 330-watt 'plug-n-play' solar panel with built-in AC outlet

Onyx's new 330-watt solar panel isn't the first to offer a "plug-n-play" solution for getting power to your gadgets, but it may be the first to include a standard US power outlet, and enough output to juice up a computer, light or any other appliance (within reason) through its built-in micro inverter. "You can literally point the panel at the sun and plug an extension cord directly into the panel for immediate power," according to the Onyx PR, which you'll find in full just past the break.

Pioneering New ONYX 330-Watt "Plug-N-Play" Solar Panels on Schedule to Debut This Week

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Onyx Service and Solutions Inc (OTCQB: ONYX) reports that its first two fully-functional 330-Watt "Plug-N-Play" all-in-one panels are scheduled to arrive at their demonstration site in Orlando, Florida tomorrow. The demonstration site will allow for the press and potential customers to see two versions of the revolutionary panels in operation. Site assembly of rack stands and ancillary display items for these panels are expected to be completed today. Company Management expects the demonstration site to be ready for members of the press by the end of the week.

The panel versions are model number OSPP330-1 and number OSPP330-2. The OSPP330-1 consists of a 330-watt panel, an incorporated micro inverter and standard US AC power outlet plug. The OSPP330-2 is identical, with the exception of having a high-capacity lithium battery incorporated into the unit.

What makes the new "Plug-N-Play" panels such a game changer in the solar industry is that they are designed for the large "Do-it-Yourself" market. You can literally point the panel at the sun and plug an extension cord directly into the panel for immediate power – alleviating complicated wiring and typical installation requirements. The new panels are designed to be bought right off of the shelf in a hardware store, attached to any surface with 4 screws and immediately be put into service, powering a computer, fan, light or even a medical device. This new configuration will also help allow remote residences worldwide to have easier access to the power of the sun.
