Acer Liquid E2 lands on Three in the UK, LG Optimus L1 II coming soon

Granted, it's not the most exciting of handset announcements, but if you can't face yet another day without a budget Android smartphone packing dual loudspeakers, Three's got the Acer Liquid E2 for ya. It's available now on PAYG for £150 (around $232), or on contracts starting at £17 ($26ish) per month if you sign up for a two-year plan. If the overwhelming power of the Liquid E2 makes you nervous, you could always hold off for the lower-end LG Optimus L1 II, which will be launching on the network "soon."

The Acer Liquid E2 packs a punch and is now available on Three.

The new Acer Liquid E2 is a powerful yet affordable smartphone that is now available on Three.

Three is offering the Acer Liquid E2 in white and with no upfront cost if you choose one of the 24 month contract plans. Choose from £17 a month on the Ultimate Internet 100 plan or £20 a month on the Ultimate Internet 500. Otherwise you can choose The One Plan which gives you all-you-can-eat-data, 2000 minutes of talk time and 500 Three to Three minutes, plus 2000 texts, for just £23 a month. All the above plans are available with all-you-can-eat data.

The device is also available on Three's new market leading Pay As You Go rates of 3p a minute, 2p a text and 1p a MB of data for £149.99. For even better value, all-you-can-eat data add-ons are also available. 'All in One 15' costs £15 and gives 30-day access to all-you-can-eat data along with 300 any-network minutes and 3,000 texts. Or 'All in One 25' costs £25 and offers 500 minutes, 3000 texts and all-you-can-eat data for a 30-day period.

Sylvia Chind, head of devices at Three, said: "The Liquid E2 is the first smartphone from Acer that we are offering to our customers. This device provides a rich, Android experience and a quad core processor that will give you the performance you need to enjoy the reliability and speed of our network."

The Acer Liquid E2 also features an instant shutter so you never miss the perfect picture and dual stereo speakers with DTS sound, which turns it into a great little portable stereo. Its large 4.5" screen is ideal for eBay window shopping or even playing the latest games, such as Minion Rush, following this summer's blockbuster film. When it's not in use you can use the phone's Daydream function to turn the screen into a digital photo frame.

LG Optimus L1 II opens up the smartphone world at an affordable price on Three.

The LG Optimus L1 II is an eye-catching introduction to the smartphone world and will soon be available in the standard black, or exclusively in white, only on Three. It will be available on the new '3-2-1' Pay As You Go price plans or various monthly tariffs.

The latest smartphone from LG is perfect for introducing the benefits of a smartphone to those that don't have one, or for users want to upgrade from a basic handset. It features a bright and clear 3" touchscreen, perfect for browsing the web, reading emails and updating social networking sites. It also has a fun voice-activated camera trigger called, 'Cheese Shutter' that eliminates the need for pushing a button, and includes the FM Music Collector, which allows you to record radio hits and converts them into music files for you to enjoy.
