LaCie's 2TB Biggest F800 drive
Okay, so LaCie's got a new external drive for you, the Biggest F800 (okay, we're going to admit, we love the name).
Like all the rest, it's an external RAID enclosure with
up to 2TB (yeah, that's terabytes) of storage. Of course, you probably wouldn't want to run it in RAID 0 because if one
drive crashes you lose all your data, but whatever, it's all about the wow factor, right? Well, no, not that either; we
might be impressed but, seriously, all they've got to do is add more SATA host ports on a RAID controller in an
external enclosure and boom, 400GB (or
500GB) a spot.
[Thanks, Will]

Sounds kinda cool.
Still I don't use 40gb myself. =p
I do a lot of audio & video editing in addition to digital photography. For storage this would be perfect for me. Especially as we move into HDV...
Any info about how noice this is ? If you have a server room at home it might not matter but for all the others noice is sure an important thing. Look at Apple's mini, fanless is the way to go ;-)
