Live Xbox 360 shot!

Can't tell you how we got our hands on this image, but what you're looking at is a real live shot of the Xbox 360 that someone sneakily snapped with their cameraphone at Microsoft's Xbox360 Revealed launch party in Los Angeles last night. Also note the presence of a hard drive attachment up top, the white controller, the Xbox Live headset, and what looks like that EyeToy-like camera peripheral we've been hearing about.

the xbox hardware is better than the ps3's ugly console that looks like a printer and whos conroller looks like a boomarang. also, the bluetooth that sony uses on the ps3 controller uses up battery over 5 times faster than the xbox's controller. also, the PS3 is vaporware right now so the footage of killzone and other games were all pre-rendered using PCs. did u know tht sony showed movies at e3 1999 and showed great footage of PS2 games ........ but then announced 6 monthes later that the resolution was reduced 50%!!! Are those deadbeat fags on crack?? They make great electronice, but horribly buily consoles(but still bettr that the nintendo crap). ALL IN ALL THE XBOX 360 WOULD GET A 9.5 altogether, the PS3 would get a 7.5 for trying, and the revolution would get a 1.0 because i feel sorry for those fags for even attempting to make a console.

Hey.. Dudes, the XBOX360 is backward compatible, it is, well, ugly, but we'll go past that and when it comes out.. spraypaint it? I'll still buy it, when it comes out around this Christmas(2005) for just about $300-$350. Can I just say that the X-box showed it's specs first, so of course PS3 is going to claim that it's much more powerful.
In my opinion, this thing is being released to prematurely. Same with the PS3. The XBOX and PS2 are pretty great so why bring out different consoles which aren't a MASSIVE improvement? The XBOX 360 clearly shows a rush to create a new games console to keep up with everybody else. Because it's out so soon game developers wouldn't have had time to make decent games so release games will be lousy. Especially compared to the likes of Halo on XBOX and Gran Turismo on PS2.
This hardware has been rushed. It's not finished yet but for some reason they revieled it at E3, actually using MAC software to create the previews. PS3 also used computers, not the actual PS3.
I think I'll wait for the good games to come out before buying these consoles and only then will it be clear which one is "better".

MS XBox 360 look = Cheap, plasticy look, aesthetically unpleasing with the changeable faceplate that will most likely contrast with the rest of the white bodywork, nice ring of light button, will stick out like a sore thumb in the living room, with many appliances taking the centre light instead.
Nintendo Revolution look = Nice finishing, simple, eye catching slot drive light, uninteresting box shape and detail, ugly flap open doors ontop.
Sony PS3 look = Nice finishing, excellent ports, takes centre stage in the living room, ugly text (but probably is only there to promote the upcoming Spiderman 3 movie so will inevitably be changed), great shape (if it looks like a fridge to some critics it's a ridiculously top end fridge!), drive looks next-gen with the indent space, looks your money's worth.
These are my opinions on the next-gen consoles, right now the Nintendo controller has yet to be released and so yet to be compares, but overall the PS3 impresses the most in the aesthetics department. Some people are always gonna take sides, but as a designer myself Sony's design team is top-notch again.

perosnally, it doesnt look too bad, changeable fascias and wot not. also, has n e 1 looked at the specs! and upgradeeable harddrive etc. i own an xbox and i want a 360. im gettin one wen it comes out. ooh yummy!. n e ways, also just to let all of u no (mite hav already been sed, dunno got liek half way down and got fed up wit ppl moaning bout looks) that the controllers r wireless, so is the cam and headset (duh), also the xbox live comes free with it and u dont hav to pay extra! u just use ur own broadband connection. but that only lets u talk to frends and buy stuff on the xbox 'market', it doesnt let u play games online, u need to upgrade to whats called xbox live 'gold'. then u can play online and talk to friends over ur cam etc. also u can plug ur ipod into ur xbox! kewl! and loadsa other things can be plugged in. another addition. there are 2 expansion slots inside for larger memory! wow. all in all i tink a pretty funky lil machine. thnks for reading

It looks absolutely gorgeous. Being a girl i cant wait to customise it with pink faschias - the only thing that im really confused on; do you think it will be able to play the old games on this console? Pretty stupid question but i filled in a questionnaire on the website and it asked if i found it important that the console was "exclusive" to its games. It might have been answered further up the comments board but i really don't want to scour 600 or so comments!

Whats the big deal. Some people think its ugly others dont, anyway how cares how it looks. This thing is sweet even if it were the size of a TV. Have u]you looked at the facts and stuff yet. You can turn the console on by controller. I dont care how it looks.
Um, it looks fugly to me. Just my opinion. The changeable faceplates is a bad idea cause the bodywork stays white. Ridiculous idea, you might aswell get your console skinned with a total body decal. The PS3 looks alot better.
this is silly, microsoft did a terrible job with the design. It has NOTHING on the PS3. The PS3 is twice as powerful as the new XBOX, and looks better. Coming into the battle already behind the PS3 in power, microsoft could have done a much better job in designing it, so at least it could maybe look as good as the PS3, which the PS3 does not even look that nicce in the first place.

don't buy this piece of crap. Wait for PS3. I got this for my son for xmas and it didn't work out of the box. We spoke to MS support and they lied about the turn around time to fix it. We had a wonderful xmas looking at how sad my kid was for the holiday. Good work billy gates, choke on that cash
