TravelMate 3000: Acer's most portable laptop yet

TravelMate 3000

Acer just introduced their new TravelMate 3000 laptop. Based on Intel's Sonoma platform, the 3000 ships with a Pentium M processor 740, 12.1-inch WXGA screen, and loads of connectivity: 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, 56k modem, and Gigabit Ethernet. It also features one 1394 and three USB 2.0 ports, one PC Card Type II slot, up to 60GB ATA/100 of disk, up to 2GB RAM, external CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, 4-in-1 PCMCIA Multimedia reader, and built-in Smart Card reader. Now, consider the up to 4.5 hours of battery love and a swanky little 3.1-pound package and we'd call this Acer's most portable TravelMate yet. Shipping now for about $1,399US. Crazy man, ke-razy.
