Sony's Vaio BX wants to get bizzy
Looks like Sony's finally hopped on the biometrics bandwagon with their businessy new 4:3 Vaio BX series
(VGN-BX90PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PS6) which in addition to their groundbreaking new support of SD, will feature a
Pentium M 780 (2.26GHz) CPU, 14.1-inch SXGA+ (1400 x 1040) display with "privacy filter," dual-layer DVD burner,
FeliCa, Bluetooth 2.0, built-in webcam (ahh, takes
us back to the TR series!), and, of course, WiFi b/g. Also interesting is their addition of a touchpoint (you know, the
eraser head between G/H/B), a modular drive bay, and a TPM chip for all you Fritz lovers.

Interesting how they say the screen has a "privacy filter" (designed so that you can only view the screen at a 90 degree angle) yet the photo taken shows the computer at an angle and the image on the screen is perfectly crisp.
Any one smell a Lenovo ThinkPad T Series here...
PC and monitor product photos never actually show stuff displayed on the screen, #1. It just doesn't show up well enough, even with an LCD. Instead, use a photo editing program to layer on an "example" screen.
That should say "a photo editing program is used."

The BX series laptops will come in 4:3 as well as wide screen, I think there are 5 different models. Some Sony Rep came by my office to show us the time line on these guys. Each model will stick around for atleast one year, unlike their consumer models which refresh every 3 months! They look slick and I'm looking forward to placing an order for 100 of these guys so I can ditch my FS690!
Timmay
Make a 12" that runs OSX and I'm in... so far nothing beats my Fujitsu P7010D with 6hour battery.
Sony Vaios are garbage
#8: you seem to bash Sony with no reason......Have u ever owned it?
What is a TPM Chip ?
Thanks
Trusted Platform Module, a technology which is supposed to protect the BIOS, operating systems and applications from malicious attacks
ok got that :)
thanks
the reason why that the screen is clear and you are able to see it is because it is an add for the computer and is added later to fit the screen.
This would be a nice notebook for VoIP. It even has a PC slot for EDGE/EV-DO. Incidentally, is EDGE fast enough for VoIP?
