iSee 360i adds video to video-less iPods

Still a little peeved that Apple added video the iPod just a few months after you snapped up an earlier model? Yeah, well ATO is introducing a portable dock called the iSee 360i (got enough "i's" in there?) that'll let most 4th generation iPods, the iPod mini, and even the iPod nano go toe-to-toe with those new video-enabled iPods (basically by taking advantage of the earlier iPods' mass storage capabilties to store video files -- Nyko's iPod Movie Player does pretty much the same thing). The 3.6-inch, 320 x 240 pixel LCD of the iSee 360i isn't exactly massively bigger than the 2.5-inch display of the current iPod, but when you're talking about tiny screens for watching video, every inch counts, right? No mention of which codecs are supported, but the iSee 360i does have direct line-in video recording and a battery life of 4 hours, which is double what you'll get with the 30GB iPod. Should start shipping this quarter with a retail price of $249.
Looks good to me. I'll wait for a review, but my 4G may have a new lease on life. It has to support more codecs than the 5G.
Well, um, couldn't you sell your old ipod for $50+ bucks and go buy an ipod video for $299.
I will not mention that as an added bonus you get....

$250 for an accessory? Why not just get a new 30 gigger for $50 more, or put it towards something bigger and better? For that price you could also get a brand-new Archos 402. Sure it doesn't have the same size screen, but it's a pretty slick device.
why not buy a new iPod for 300? you keep 2 ipods.
Wurx, no need to be rude...rude ass. In selling and buying the 5G (which I already have, btw), I'm limiting myself to the video codecs supported by iPods. Selling it is also hastened by my name being sprawled across the back.
This seems like a cool way [for others] to use the 4G, since, I no longer use it.
I'm not peeved. Because the iPod (New or old version) sucks as a PMP. Fantastic music player. But not for video. Its too damn small.

Yes, what a waste of money this thing is! I sold my 60GB iPod Photo for $300 and used it to get a new 30GB Video iPod (didn't really need the xtra 30GB). I think this product would be a better deal for something closer to $99. Anyways, they'll probably get burned with Apple's new offerings in a few weeks.

2 hour battery life ? Dang...my stratched and dented Creative Jukebox FM Recorder got about that when I bought it used (with it's original battery). I got a $25 long run battery and now it runs for about 7 or 8 hours. Can anyone remind me again why the iPod is so freakin' popular ?

the 2 hour battery life is for videos i believe. the music one is something like 15 hours or something
I'm really excited for this product. I have the Ipod Video and the screen is too small. I wish I knew about this product before I wasted my money. I'll pay the 250.00 for this. Cool!
hmmm interesting. It would be better if it wasn't contricted to just ipods...like it conected through a usb 2.0. Personally that would make it more worth the 250. otherwise I'd rather not spend that much for an accessory...
