The 2005 Engadget Awards: Nominate the Portable Video Device of the Year

Nominating is easy. Just leave a comment as you normally would with what you're nominating for this category (remember, comments must be validated!). You don’t have to include your reasons for nominating it or any of that stuff, just leaving the name is fine.
Limit your nominations only to devices that were introduced and sold for the first time in 2005 (which means no concept devices or prototypes, though we will allow updated versions of previous products).
Also, products only need to be nominated once to be in the running, so if you’re planning on suggesting something, please make a quick scan to see if someone’s already beat you to it (i.e., please don't nominate anything more than once!). Thanks!

Sony PSP / UMD Discs
iPod Video. Unbelievable screen, great capacity, TV out looks very good.
5G iPod
No brainer 5G iPod. PSP is too large for a truly portable media device. And UMD=teh sux0r.
Sony PSP
Apple IPOD 5G
PSP (Memory stick + pspvideo9=FTW!) DOWN WITH UMD!
Creative Zen Vision.
Archos AV500 30GB/100GB - Simply put, best in class pmp. Robust player featuring dvr functionality with included docking station, gorgeous 4" widescreen (18-bit-color vs ipod video's 16-bit), excellent battery life which is removable (cnet tested 21hr audio/8hr video), divx & xvid support all in a form factor that is pocketable.

Aye, PSP + Shite prop. memory cards + PSP Video 9 = win.
When the iPod can play me more than one, if that, movie, call me, but until then, I'll take my better battery life, and bigger screen.
kthxbye
Something other than the functionally limited 5G iPod with small screen... Archos AV500, Zen Vision, PSP, or Dell Axim X51v are all better choices.
5G iPod
AV500 all the way. As a video player, the ipod can not match it in any way, shape or form.
PSP
5G iPod
Sony PSP
As with my audio nomination, I would like to point out that term "Portable Video Device" is too general. Therefore, I will nominate the IBM X41 notebook computer with extended battery. Plays downloaded movies, DVD (its images), my whole music library, plus its a computer with 6 hours of battery life. (The 60GB iPod has less than 3 hours (I tested that), the PSP is from Sony therefore it sucks (Sony=Sh!t), most video players can't play more than 6 hours of life. The most important thing for movies is screen size (in turn to eye strain) and sound, both lacking on iPod and many video portables.
Zen Vision/Vision:M 256K Colors, long battery life, great feature set, Divx, Xvid, AVI, MPEG4, WMV as well as MP3 and WMA. Yes iPod is thinner but only has 64K colors and only does quicktime.
Archos AV500. 100 Gigs. Sweet 4 inch high contrast high-res screen. Almost Great battery life (almost 6 hours of video, 15 with audio). DVR. Photowallet.
