Nintendo sez Revolution due in the US before Thanksgiving
It
wasn't much of a
mystery, but Nintendo cleared it up anyways, with their prez Satoru Iwata confirming that their next-gen offering
will grace our shores by Thanksgiving of this year. He managed to keep it vague, just saying that they didn't want to
"miss out on the year-end sales battle," so the console will be released "prior to that period."
Iwata also teased us on the price again, merely stating that it will be low, since "it's not going to sell if it's
50,000 yen ($434)." Real vote of confidence there, but since they've already stated the console will debut under $300, we'll
let it slide.[Via Joystiq]

Good for Nintendo. Making Consoles Affodable for the not for the Heavy-game minded. Unlike Ps3 and Xbox 360 which only Hardcore gamers can truly Enjoy.
Nintendo made the smartmove by keeping the genreal public invole. GO NINTENDO the only thing a XBOX is good for is hittin someone across the head with.
tha end i have an xbox. but i like nintendo's approach
WOW, I can't wait to get my hands on this and the PS3. Good thing I didnt get the 360, I knew it was a waste of money! The controller looks cool on how its different but also looks like it will get uncomfortable and annoying just like the N64 (Dam I hated that controller!)
I thought the Rev. controller was a two piece? Wasn't there a piece of joystick connected by a cord? If there was it was a really stupid idea. Imagine playing games and eating your 20 piece nuggets from McDonalds; the second piece would start swinging around and it would be hard to get right back into the game after the loading time(aka munching time).
I am just curious to see how the controller works out with the gaming public. Im not a big console woman myself, so I cant really see how it would work or not.
i'm not really a gamer at all, still using a PS1 here. But of all the 'next-gen' consoles this one attracts me the most. It actually looks like something I wouldn't mind having in my living room - small and sleek.
I'm dutch, when is Thanksgiving?
third thursday of November or something like that.
November 23, 2006: Thanksgiving Day [4th thursday in Nov] in the United States, and for some reason, Canadas is on October 9, the second monday in October. I don't know why, but there it is.
#5 the last thursday in November
----
#2 I love the N64 controller, now the XBOX controller I can't stand...
November.
Thanksgiving is usually the third Thursday or the last Thursday of November.
#10 - Actually it's neither of those. 4th Thursday in November

Cause our Thanksgiving is about how we didnt Rape and destroy the heritage of our native indian culture, unlike Americas.
Thanksgiving US, by Christmas in Japan, that means it'll probably be, what, March in Europe?
#2 ... 20 McNuggets?! Maybe you should use the loading time to go out for a jog instead?
Only joking :-)
#2) Typically, Nintendo games have little-to-no load time so no snacking for you. Get playing! That's why you have a console, right?
#7 Thanksgiving is earlier in Canada because of the earlier harvest (earlier winter), which is what thanksgiving is all about, Harvesting. Well... that and getting stuffed so full that you sleep for a few days.
#2 == Actually the good thing about the N64 controller was that it fit in your hands, and was not too small or had some weird bent part
Really the only problem I have with the PS1/2 and NGC controllers are the shape of the "handles"--beleve it or not amazinglly Logitech improved on the design of the PS1/2 controller with their "RumblePad 2", but is still flawed with the angle of the handles...other than that it was a little to big, but not as big as the Dreamcast's controller/ first Xbox controller layout(though the current Xbox360 and Xbox S controllers seem to be right in size and shape...let alone layout)
The problem i have with the Nintendo Rev controller...is the shape of the main part(the one shown off everwhere), and the fact i think its just a little too simple, same goes with the Joystick/Analog stick part in my opinion the simplicity will annoy me while trying to play games that i want both parts right next to each other...like fighting games...really for crying out loud you need the controller with at least 5 buttons on one side and 2 spare on the other ...

yes. race relations in canada towards it's indigenous peoples is the mark all nations wish to strive for. give me a break. you may not have had to "rape and destroy" (as much) but your current status with the aboriginal people leaves a lot to be desired. read up. nothing more annoying than a blindly american -bashing canadian.
One request -- pretentious self-righteous condescending Canadians please stop posting here. Jeez, I'm surprised you guys have internet servive up there. Now back to your beers.
Can't wait for the R's release! I definitely want to try that controller out.
Sony need to get the PS3 out before Nintendo otherwise it may really impact the sales of their rather more expensive machine there, the Japanese games market has shrunk alot and the economy wont stomach an expensive machine if there is a cheap Nintendo alternative available.
With the amount of money Sony will have to discount each machine they really need to gain the same market dominince they did the last generation otherwise they'll end up losing billions.
