Endtones, ringtones for your dropped calls
Ringtones, ringback tones, SMStones, Vibetonz, smelltones, and reverse ringback images -- why
stop there? Peep the latest place to slot something in to your cellphone service: endtones (aka disconnect tones).
Patented by, um, Endtone, endtones play back music when your call gets dropped or if you get hung up on. Think of it as
what happens when top-40 meets the dialtone movie characters always hear the second their call ends. So, any takers?[Via Textually]

who would pay for something like this?
Tom @ Jan 26th 2006 12:38PM
I don't know what is worse: a ring tone that plays when you hang up, or that terrifying picture you included with this post.
Gus Jenkins @ Jan 26th 2006 12:46PM
Yeah, I want to be reminded how sucky my cell phone provider is everytime I hear my endtone.

...another way for consumers to waste money. I am waiting for a "mid tone", a ring that alerts me midway through my conversation (based on how bored my voice sounds)
Stop the madness

Ummmmm....I thought we already had something like this... called the dial tone...
DAN @ Jan 26th 2006 5:07PM
Isewise, my cellphone does not have a dial tone, does yours?
I think this would be useful. Several times I've found myself still talking, even though I've been disconnected. I usually realize it when I hear the ring from the other party calling me back, in mid sentence.
Infoclipper @ Jan 26th 2006 10:11PM
Now if this played on the *other* person's side, this would be useful. That way I could play back a verbal message:
I've hung up on you. This conversation is over. Please don't call me back. Ever. Thank you.
Or, umm.. "Yeah, Verizon dropped another call. Can you hear me now?"
Guse @ Jan 27th 2006 11:48AM
what about pherotones?
Antonia @ Feb 1st 2006 1:57PM
Hm... it's a cool idea for those who want the upmost personalization for their phone. It's a waste of money though. But so is all the other things we add on our phones. Eh, I wouldn't pay for it.

I like the Endtone idea. I hate it when I don't know if I have been dropped by the network - I may never have to ask "HELLO??!!! HELLO??!!! Are you there??!!!" again! Sign me up!
Al Carter @ Feb 11th 2006 3:08PM
Agree with Manny. No one is going to use it.
Hollis @ Mar 16th 2006 2:19PM
I like the disconnect tone service. I am going to see if my provider offers it.
Maria @ Mar 17th 2006 11:51AM
I would pay to have this service. I think that an Endtone would be a great idea. I never know when my cellphone push to talk is over or we have gotten dropped. The endtone would be very helpful! Hope my carrier offers this option.
Raymond @ Mar 20th 2006 10:40AM
Disconnect tones would be very helpful for me. I am a traveling sales person and spend lots of time in my car. Because of this, I have many conf calls on the go. Often, I find that I was disconnected from the network - but did not know for several minutes. This is a drag... I like disconnect tones.

I'm in London. Does anyone know if I can get disconnect tones here? My service provider is Vodafone. THANKS!
Heather Wyngarden @ Mar 20th 2006 10:52AM
Dissconect tones are cool. Does Endtone have other products/services? Thanks in advance. Heather

I am a Black Eyed Peas fan... think about the follwing BEP songs as disconnect tones!!
Go Go

What fun! I can't wait to get disconnect tones on my cell. KK

A disconnect tone would really spare me the time that I could otherwise use to concentrate on more important things, driving being the biggest thing that comes to mind.
