Motorola roadmap includes Q, Z and other LTRS
Motorola CEO Ed
Zander and marketing chief Ron Garriques had some good news for nervous customers around the globe, laying out
international rollout plans for the recently launched MS600 Z (aka the RAZR slider,
pictured above) and the Q smartphone, which had earlier been rumored to be on the chopping block. The company plans to
introduce the Z -- which is currently available only in Korea -- in Europe and the US later this year, and also plans to
launch the Q internationally by the end of the year. Moto will also be going HSDPA in a big way, and will roll out its
first DVB-H handsets early next year.

Motorola Q "by the end of the year" why is that?...by that time, Microsoft will probably be prepping the next version of their mobile platforms and in about less then a year it might get out of date...esh...
I have waited for a year for the Q to be released, now I have to wait another 11 months...thats just way too long...lets hope apple will release a cellphone soon.

Moto MPX + Moto RAZR = Crazy Delicious!! (CZY DLCS?)
The Z had better come out in North America (CDMA) before Europe....
The phone is already CDMA so it should make its way to Verizon before getting re-engeneered into a GSM or UMTS version for Europe
Why the stupid naming scheme?
Indeed.
Their interfaces look like some four-year old brain-washed Republican using Microsoft Paint on Windows 95 "designed" them.
jab-jab.
:P
The Q will be coming out within the next 4 months according to my friend who is doing PR work for them (she worked on the RAZR and SLVR rollouts and is currently doing the Q work as we speak. it is definatly coming and its gunna be HOT!
Ive been holding out for a Nokia N80 since i heard abt it.....this looks reaaaaaaaaaaly tempting though :(.
Anyone know if its GSM? (Specs would be nice).
If the Q is not a full mobile device but the mini-WM 5.0 and the delay -- forget it Motorola -- you are just not getting it. You might have invented the cellphone but freaking HTC is doing more for it.
Wow Mike, cranky much?
I love my Razr V3. If it were a slider that'd be even cooler.
Its not motorola's delay. its Verizon, like it always is. They do the same thing with every smartphone/ppc. The did the same with vx-6700 also an HTC device.
That said Motorola does have a lot to learn from HTC in functionality, if not product design.
Posers, everyone wants to warm themselves in Mitsubishi's light. http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/product/foma/902i/d902i/index.html
The view farthest to the right does not make sense.
#9: The Q talked about (as in being released internationally by the end of the year) in this article is the GSM Q, most likely for Cingular, and not the CDMA Q for Verizon. That Q is still scheduled for release in the first half of this year.
I'd wish you would stop talking about phones, it's really boring. Stop telling us when samsung bring out a new colour phone, or when sony include a higher resolution camera, or when motorolla make a thick phone thin, but twice as broad. Boring, really boring. These are all adaptations of existing technology, try talking about something groundbreaking.
So when will this phone be out? This is a very cool looking phone? What price range this phone going to be when it comes out?
