Samsung Q1 gets May 1 US launch
Samsung is set
to officially launch its Q1 UMPC in the US on May 1, with an event
in San Francisco. We're assuming (or at least hoping) that this will be a real launch, with an announcement of pricing
and availability (Samsung has already launched the Q1 in Korea, with a price
of about $1,200). Of course, if Samsung decides to hold the event in the Moscone Center and starts sending out
cryptic invitations, all bets are off.

Bad link, use this one. http://news.com.com/Samsung+plans+Origami+PC+launch/2100-1044_3-6061165.html
Thanks. The link is fixed.
But does it have a sliding qwerty keyboard, or is it useless?
is it realising Q1 this year of may 1st, or Q1 next year may 1st
This Q1 just looks like garbage to me. It's like a crippled laptop, or a PDA on steroids - steroids that make it too big to carry around easily. Please Samsung (or anybody) tell me the point of this item...?
Come see me when it's $500. It'd be nice to be down to 1 gadget again but not at this price. Buh bye UMPC, we hardly knew ya.

I hear that some of the other products they'll be announcing is a 'Fun' $100 leather sleeve for it, a $350 set of speakers and an upgrade to the UMPC Software Pack that lets it do a few new features... :)
Is there a UK release date yet? Sounds like it will be £800ish when we get it over here
UMPC an important step twords a fanless battery-backed replacement for the noicy tower PC. Connect external 19" LCD, keyb. and mouse.
BUT - reading the users manual page 33, the Q1 LCD cant be turned off when using an external monitor.
My GOD - they spend millions to develop the Q1 and this basic feature is not included !
Call me back when this "BUG" has been fixed !
