Sprint shipping Treo 700P by end of month, for $400
Sprint may have missed out on an exclusive Treo 700P offering, but at least they plan on being first to market. Sure, the 700P is missing WiFi support and a few other notable exclusions, but if EV-DO and the promise of watching Sprint TV on that 320 x 320 screen is your PalmOS siren song then get ready -- Sprint will be kicking these out the door at the end of the month for $399.99 green after available discounts and promotions. Meaning, you'll likely have to sign up for a two-year commitment which is pretty much what we expected anyway and exactly what the WinMo 700W went for when it was launched. :( too expensive for me, but I want one!
That's a nice price, but I'm happy with my Samsung A900 "Blade" which only cost me $99.00.
Just wait till the T650 goes down in price since the 700P is out. The diference is so minimal and if you have never had one of these phones you wont go wrong
So does engadget and ENmobile just copy eachothers posts? Is there any validity to having a mobilephone specific engadget blog?
DISCUSS!
PEZ,
As Engadget stated, there will be overlap:

Damn, why must they cripple these things? No WiFi, and an SD port that can't use a WiFi card? Phone companies suck.
Unfortunately, Palm has never placed much emphasis on Wi-Fi support.
no wifi is due to the garnet OS not the phone co. the windows ppc phones have wifi enabled just fine
If no wifi is an OS issue, it means it could be fixed in the future...especially if enough people voice their concerns to Palm.
I'll keep my 650...it's plenty sufficient for me until there's wifi support.
Yeah! Once the 700p get's released for Sprint, the 650 will be available on eBay for MUCH less!
I can finally replace my lost 650!
(Oh yea, the 700p is incredible, too)
Does anyone know if the 700p has the same volume issues as the 650? Using VolumeCare on the 650 is one of the best apps out there for the 650 but will the 700p even need it.
I don't know about the volume situation...hope it's better as well...but there's a great alternative to VolumeCare that does a lot more, and that's Hobbyist Software's "Technician," which not only boosts the volume to your liking (a new feature actually) but lets you set the times of day the radio goes on and off, as well as many other things. I'm hoping they add Bluetooth scheduling to that as well. From the makers of the 650 must-have utility "Butler." I'll be upgrading w/Sprint as soon as I hear there are no major glitches! =]
this needs a wifi card right away
whe will there be a wifi card
