If you've been hankerin' for some Vonage-flavored
VoIP-
on-
a-
stick then listen up friend, because that sweet, cheap, SIP goodness is on the way. Announced by
Vonage's very own Jeffrey Citron while on-stage at the TechEffect Convergence 2.0 show, this little red USB keychain can be plugged into any Internet connected PC for Vonage customers to make calls on the go. More details are expected this week but from the looks of that pic, we'll guess the device will feature an integrated mic and good ol' standard 3.5-mm jack for some hot headset-on-stick action. Yeah, not exactly a first, or even a distant second in this game but let's stay tuned anyway to see how Vonage plans to
lead follow this Internet phone revolution.
it sure would be nice if Vonage offered these free to current subscribers and if they don't offer them free it sure would be nice for them not to charge a monthly fee like they do for the softphone for it.
Vonage? Not charge a fee? Hahahahaha
lmfao....right on chris
Give this thing (at least) Bluetooth, so I can use a BT headset, and I will care. I would have to think that it would have this, or few would bother with it.
Vonage will be more "in the game" when they wake up and realize that their VOIP competitors are offering a lot more for a lot less. Their prices are way out of line.
What competitors are you referring to? I'm looking into getting VoIP for my home but I'd like to look for alternatives to Vonage. I look at Vonage's site and ask myself what I ever did without all the features they offer, but it's always good to know of a competitor to them (so I'm not viewing through rose colored glasses).
Voicestick has this now. .02/min pay as you go plan, or 24.99 unlimited. No big deal here.
The V-phone is $40 + a $9 activation fee. After that you pay no additional charges ever - simply use your Vonage plan. Personaly I think a $49 one-time charge for a phone you can use for free anywhere in the world is a great deal.
Could you use your bluetooth capable cell phone and a bluetooth capable computer to then use the V-phone wirelessly? Example; pair the phone to the cpu and then stream the phone conversation from the v-phone via Bluetooth from your cpu to your cell phone..?
The V-phone is not an add on to your existing account. It is a SECOND account you pay full price for, and it requires a second number.
Of course you can now have JUST the V-phone without having an account using the ATA.
Myself, I ended up with http://VoiceStick.com They invented the the USB drive phone.
You can use with ONE account the Softphone (Either a download or their $9.99 stick) an ATA or use the bridge to use your cell phone on the cheap VOIP (No internet broadband needed !)
The flashphone F4K have bluetooth function, So you may transfer your call to your headset.
The price also 39.9 from mplat
