Alright everybody, things get busy tomorrow when His Steveness kicks off WWDC 2006 at 10:00AM PST / 1:00PM EST. We'll be on hand to cover the event, as well as to provide any live pre-game coverage, including Jonathan Ive's tailgater and the filming of WWDC Parking Lot. Be sure to stay tuned for late-breaking leaks (yay) and rumors (boo), and click on for some more shots of the made-over Moscone here in San Francisco (including that silly
WWDC banner).
Update: Makes sense to provide a few more time zones so you know when to show up if you're not on one coast or the other. Here, this oughta help a little:
7:00AM - Hawaii
10:00AM - Pacific
11:00AM - Mountain
12:00PM - Central
1:00PM - Eastern
5:00PM - GMT
6:00PM - London
7:00PM - Paris
2:00AM - Tokyo (August 8th)
Well, at least they're not being secretive about which event this is.
Security guard looking like he's having a blast.
The cutoff MacBook Pro -- it's just the entrance, people, nothing being hidden here.
Is it just me or is it funny that Apple produce QuickTime Broadcaster "to produce a live broadcast event. From a backyard birthday party to a corporate keynote speech" (quoted from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/broadcaster/) but don't actually broadcast their keynotes live anymore?
Show some faith in your own product Apple :P
Odd, I thought GMT was used to refer to the time that did account Daylight saving time, and UTC to refer the time that didn't. I guess I need to go search for a authoritative source on this..
WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT!?!?!?!?!?
You include Hawaii, but not us Alaskans? Oh come on, I thought Engadget loved ALL 50 states. *tear*
I don't know what to think....
"i like how you can include Paris and Tokyo and GMT but can't even find the space to include all of the US. "
Are all Americans so stupid they can't even figure out the time difference between their time zones and Pacific time!?
I cant wait for the keynote speach is always excellent all those excitted mac users loved last years especially when they sacrificed the microsoft employee and got no response
Jobs your a legend
maybenot: huhwha? I looked (again) at a couple of the banner photos showing the end with the MBP, and it *is* the same keyboard they've had for years (including PBs of course).

London and GMT are the same time zone. You do realise that GMT = Greenwich Mean Time and that greenwich is in London right?
"London and GMT are the same time zone. You do realise that GMT = Greenwich Mean Time and that greenwich is in London right?"
Yeah - but London is currently in British Summer Time which is GMT+1 :)
I can't help laughing at all these people trying to correct the GMT time.
LONDON IS ON GMT TIME IN THE WINTER ONLY. IT IS SUMMER (BST) SO THE CLOCKS ARE AN HOUR AHEAD.
I'm pretty sure you mean PDT and EDT (not PST and EST), but that's okay.
I never thought I'd live to see the day but you guys at Engadget made a grave error. During summer, Pacific time is the same as Mountain time and not 1 hour behind!!! I know, I know, its confusing because Mountain time doesn't follow DST and it's almost impossible for average people to track the changes but I thought you guys at Engadget were better than us average joes. I am so dissapointed.
So what are we gonna see today? I know its been linked to on Slashdot and Engadget, but I'm thinking it's going to be similar to whats discussed in the "apple employee" interview:
http://tinyurl.com/frzej
So is there going to be a live stream or not? http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mac.html just bounces back to the quicktime homepage..
the link for the live feed is
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/mwsf06/
enjoy
I was confused as hell for a second....I saw the name of the event and thought the event was being held at the WWDC DC101 studio.
I was thinking that it was weird to have such a tech convention at DC's #1 rock station (that and I would have thought that it would have been mentioned on Elliot In The Morning).
Live and learn.
Does no one in the world understand what PST and PDT mean? We are not in standard time, so it would be PDT/EDT, not PST/EST. I thought you guys at engadget were sharp.
