Apple rumor dredgin' site AppleInsider just hocked-up another canard for those of you feeling a
bit shorted following
WWDC 2006. AI reports that the obsessively closed-mouthed Steve Jobs is so giddy about the oft speculated iPod cellphone that he's been blow-harding its merits amongst personal acquaintances. Sources touting an "unblemished track record" in predicting Apple's future and familiar with the device's "ongoings" claim that prototypes have already been released to two potential OEM manufacturing partners with a "big bang" launch coming earlier than expected -- catching even industry insiders (such as themselves?) off-guard. Certainly
analysts and
believers alike have all but convinced themselves that some kind of iPhone device (like that pictured to the right)
with or
without an MVNO is a certainty. Still, it's hard to believe that Jobs would break character in such loose-lipped fashion even if they
weren't sitting around doing nothing.
I call bullshit
Can't we just wait for Apple to unveil iPhone?
I mean, rumors, disappointment, more rumors, more disappointment. The cycle is exhausting. Exercise some patience, my friends.
Btw, whoever mocked up that fake piece in the photo, I want to kick his ass... urgently.
“Jeff Foster” is right! There’s NO WAY Apple would come into the cellphone game, late and play janitor. That’s way too much of a mess to clean up. Apple/Jobs would only get involved, if they could play that game to win. Like maybe, bypassing the cell carriers altogether.
We already know they’ll bring out a bigger/better iPod. That’s a no-brainer, but… how would Jobs go about getting NEW customers? The ones who aren’t carrying iPods everywhere they go? It would be something that people use everyday, something that people carry with them 90% of the time? What would be the next logical step?
Possible… a Voice over IP phone, that’s portable? Something that has all the functions of an iPod, but in a smaller form that could be used for more than just music. A one size fits all kind of thing for everyone, around $400 – Video, Web, Wifi, Phone, Music, Games, eBook reader, Address, organizer, business crap, etc. Something that flips open sideways, with a nice little keyboard, then closes back to iPod shape. Something like that maybe? Everyone would certainly be talking about it, if they did that.
that is one ugly phone.
they should stick to their ipods and overpriced computers
What an ugly remote... Apple really should stay away from the mobile phone industry...
apple nano is the best mp3
apple imac is the top 3 nb
apple iphone maybe will be an excited cellphone .
i wanna an iphone if the price is below 160usd
this might just be something that I have trouble seeing... but it seems like you can't replace the battery on the phone. something that apple tends to do CONSISTENTLY! where you going to put service provider card? or... is apple planning to provide you APPLE phone service?
