A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
OK, I've done a little URL/XML analysis and found that the announcement is going to include movies from the following studios:
20th Century Fox, DreamWorks S.K.G., Focus Features, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Independent, Lions Gate Films, MGM Studios, Miramax Films, New Line Cinema, Paramount Classics, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Sony Pictures Classics, Touchstone Pictures, Universal Pictures, Walt Disney Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures
This is straight from Apple's own XML files folks. I'm still hacking to see if I can get any listings of movies or pricing.
Apple Store down now !!
you think it could be something bigger than a video store??
Is there a live feed for this conference or is it a "watch afterward on quicktime" jobby...
Hacking an XML file? LOL, don't you mean READING?
This is simply trailer information. I'm not saying today isn't the video announcement, but this is being overblown.
Just in case you missed this:

And I thought Steve was just going to announce that he was posting pictures of Tom, Katie and Suri.
U.K. store down

Thanks for that.
US Apple Store down.
At the bottom of the Swedish Quicktime page there is a list of downloadable music videos. The strange thing is that the videos listed are proper movies (Transporter 2, Enigmo 2…).
Check out the link: http://www.apple.com/se/quicktime/mac.html

Thank you CDK.
Wow.
I get excited when these things happen.
Of course I never end up buying anything but still, I get excited.
by the way did i mention that the apple store is down in my thread? only i might have forgot.
"You know what that means, don't you?"
Yes. It means Apple doesn't know how to do a rolling update and value news splash more than their customers.
Will the event be broadcasted online ?

OFFICIALLY DOWN :-)
Maybe they are just fixing their problem with the new method to strip DRM off M4P files that has been circulating in the last weeks. I suggest you use it now before it's too late.
And remember to complain about DRM limitations at the following email address:
you.buy@our.store.but.we.dont.trust.what.you.might.do.with.your.purchase
I tryed opene all the links that are either forbidden or not found on the apple site; through the google cache. Some are not in the cache, but the rest keep showing this same page:

i cant help thinking that all the people furiously writing away on this thread would be better off on this one (as noted above):

in which endgadget is providing live commentary and photos on the actual event...it might even distract you for a little while from typing in 'the apple store is down'
10 more minutes.
Until then: http://www.emusic.com/ - OK this is a subscription service, however, it allows one to download songs in ... mp3 format! No DRM!
If your subscription expires, you... have the mp3s! Imagine that! Only independent music of course, the big greed studios would never go for such a deal.
Windows XP, and Now Vista is very likely to be enough to drive people over MAc. XP has had its share of issues over the years, among them, being service pack 2 and a whole host of security issues. Along with other weirdness to nurmous to mention.
I know I am seriously thinking MAC. I can't think of anything I can do on XP that I can't do on a MAC and some of it better on a MAC.
The early reviews that I've read on Vista haven't exactly been glowing. This sounding a lot like a fancy dressed up ME again. And we all know what that was.
If they put out all version of Vista that I had seen listed earlier this year, and I was a tech support worker I'd run from doing tech support for Vista. As A Windows user since windows 95 and 98m and now on my 2nd XP box, I can say in my humble opion, XP is defiantly better then 95 and 98, but I don't think it come close to being all that it could have been and I don't think Vista is getting any closer, at least not from what I have read lately.
The MAC has done so many things right, right from the beginning, starting out then they went over to OSX and started over and conceived the whole ILife concept, in the beginning. If windows where to try something like that, they would be essentially stealing or at least copying what Apple had done, and as near as I can tell done right.
As soon as finances allow I'm heading for a MAC Mini and stop worry about viruses and other nastys.., They res more I could say in favor of Mac But think I've made my point.
when i installed the new version of iTunes all of my music was gone!!!! And now i have nothing left cause i had none on my music on my computer! can i do anything to get everything back?!
