Sony's LF-12MT1 LocationFree TV
Looks like Sony quietly busted out a followup to their LocationFree TV at the same time they rolled out their LocationFree base stations. Thing is, from the minimum specs released, there's not much to report on their new wireless LF-12MT1 telly -- it goes 12-inches like its predecessor supporting MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats pumped over WiFi at a range of about 100 feet. The big news here is that the slab is expected to drop considerably in price from about $1300 to a more reasonable $850. It even comes with an optional ¥9,450 (about $80) waterproof jacket for use in the toilet 'cause you and Sony both know that's where it'll be. Expect the LF-12MT1 in Japan and China when these ship come November.

I was wondering when Japan was going to catch up with US on this product. I noticed that Sony US has been the first test market to introduce at first LF-X5 and than about a year ago LF-X11 (very similar in design as LF-12MT1) came to the States with no Japan release! I was pretty honored that finally something is released here first and Japan had to wait some...
I want one!!! Watching TV in my bath!
Whos going to buy a small tv for $850.
Temple: The Sony Location Free Base Station costs $300, so thats $300 + buying a PSP
Looks like we have a Sony hater here. People buy expensive things, they do as long as they find some value in it. the LocationFree Base station can be had for $150 shipped or less. and PSP's are $200.
So guess what? You're wrong.
Go Troll somewhere else.
Actually if you go to ebay you can find the location free base for just 80. There are so many people selling those that the prices are really low.
If you get it for less than 100 and 150 for the psp, you get a TV that will work anywhere there is wifi connection.
And the thing works freakishly well.
I have a video on my site with the add on for watching and playing games and videos on your regular tv.

A true Sony fan will spend the big bucks for the technology that Sony puts out. I don't know how many thousands of dollars I have spent on Sony products even when I was a small child. So location Free for even $300.00 is not a big deal since it is making your life so much easier and enjoyable.
