StormBlue busts out A9+ Bluetooth PMP
While StormBlue didn't update the aesthetics of its Bluetooth-equipped A9 PMP with its latest offering, the company did up the ante by adding capacity, tossing in a text viewer, and boosting the recording abilities. The A9+ sports a silver or black finish (sorry, no white option here), comes in 2GB and 4GB flavors, and rocks a built-in SD slot for further flash expansion. The 2-inch 220 x 176 resolution screen displays a proprietary MPEG-4 format (touting "20fps" playback), but includes software to "quickly convert" from AVI, WMV, DAT, ASF, and MPEG; musically, it supports MP3, WMA, OGG, and WMV-DRM. The integrated Bluetooth can be paired up with your favorite set of BT cans, and by boasting 39 hours of battery life (11 in movie mode), you'll probably quit before this thing does. Voice memos and MP3 line-in recording are also on tap, but you'll pay a premium for all these goodies -- £109 ($207) for the 2GB version and £149 ($283) for the 4GB edition.

QUESTION: I read the link out page, but I don't see if this PMP's bluetooth is the streaming ADP2 kind, or not. Anyone know?
They don't say it specifically, but it does have the A2DP profile on it.
Other than the fullscreen display and small capacity storage, it's EXACTLY what I want. Plays tons of formats, superb battery life (probably due to flash over HDD), and bluetooth to boot.
But that "extra software" makes me wary. Why is it every new player has their own software? Jeez. I like having only 1 column of programs in windows.
It may not say A2DP but it supports it. Look at the picture and where it says, listen through bluetooth (wirelessly). This thing is putting my 2gb clix to shame. But I still have to see the size of it. If you can sync music via bluetooth, i'm sold
had me until the 2 and 4 gig capacitys.
Christ almighty.
4GB for £150? I can buy a DSLite, Supercard MiniSD and a cheap 2GB SD card for that! And then I can play games, watch movies (open Mpeg format) at 256x192 (higher res) on a 3 inch screen, and of course use homebrew, wifi, browse the internet etc.
RIP!!! (and I can play MP3's)
Testing to get my password saved: Sorry :o
I'm reserving judgement until we get a real-world test of that battery life. I've seen it fall from manufacturers' numbers by as much as 50% on other devices.
I could not believe it so I got one An I put it to the test.....It is amazing!! I had it playing for 42 hours straight and it did not stop. I recharge it and played for 2 weeks on and off before I had to recharge it. Great picture, great sound and really easy to use. I can record directly to it using a regular double male jack(include it in the package...lucky us!!)from my Ipod and from my old Sony Walkman. I just tried with the new Sony Car Radio that has Bluetooth and I can upload it directly and listen to it without any interface. It will read it as a mass storage device!!! I am sold on this little puppy.
tahts pretty hawt. damn tiny-ass players... my freind filled up his 60 gig ipod...
I'm gonna get one, buy a 2G iPod wheel from ipodmods.com, rig the iPod wheel to this, and have a one of a kind PMP.
SD expansion is amazing, otherwise its just a samsung T9B that hasn't hit the gym in years. but the T9B's pretty good, so I want this.
Despite being identified by Which as a Best Buy this month no one in the UK now stocks this great little MP3 player.
