Logitech officially unveils FreePulse headphones
While we gave you the initial smattering of details last week, Logitech has officially announced the FreePulse headphones on its website, and currently lists them for a single piece of paper with Ben Franklin's mug on it. As you already know, these headphones use Bluetooth 2.0 EDR with A2DP to let you jam to your tunes at a range of 33 feet (i.e. Class 2), and can rock on the MP3 player of your choosing with its adjustable transmitter (though the iPod adapter attachments aren't exactly a hinderance for uptake).

nice, i want those
i forgot which bill has franklin on it. Maybe they should just say the price for us stupid people
It's all about the benjamins, matt.
yay 100$ fool, but ill stick w/ my bose triports tyvm
Would they work with a bluetooth phone? Or a future bluetooth-enabled iPod or Zune or anything like that?
so could i use these with my slvr l7? I know it doesn't support a2dp but would I get any audio out of it?
that adapter is bigger than alot of daps on the market. someone with a mobi cube would have a hard time conceling that
These look great. It looks to me that it will fit nicely on my Nano... which would be really nice so that I can listen to podcasts around the house and don't have to have it dangling.
I wonder how those earphones would hold up while in the gym. That would be another great place not to have wires flapping around.
The downside is that it does cost half the price of the Nano. Could be useful though if it makes it more funtional.

I saw that the batteries last up to 6 hours on a charge.
i have these in the old design.... the new transmitter looks bigger, but these look like they will be more comfortable.
That's great.
When are you gonna announce the Commercial Contest winners?
do you have to use with the transmiter or could you use them with a bluetooth combatable computer/ phone?
as long as your phone/laptop supports A2DP... you can use it without the transmitter
Sooooo, if I had some and friend had some, can we use 1 transmitter to one device with 2 sets of phones or no?
YES!!, THESE LOOK GREAT FOR MY FUSIC!! just what ive been waiting for
Are theese going to be like the HP ones where the back of the headband breaks after a while, but it looks like they'd be worth it for my Palm TX with the Softick Audio Gateway software, but I'd really like to hear them before I'd purchase them.
@V.I. -
I'm not too sure that bluetooth allows for 2 receivers to one transmitter...
Then again, I could be wrong :)
V.I., I am pretty sure only one set of headphones can be paired to a device, not 2 or 3, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though
ive tried pairing 2 sets with one transmitter.... didnt work.
I tried pairing 2 Logitech Bluetooth headsets (the Two For Tuesday Woot deal last week) off of one base station today to no avail.
"a hinderance for uptake?"
Who talks like that?
Yeah, guess what? You can't use these on an airplane. Use of RF (radio frequency) devices is against most airlines' policies. Although, if you get permission from the PIC (pilot in charge) that can be overridden. Anything with a radio transmitter, however, is usually banned for use in a commercial airline flight.
Not that you would necessarily be 33 feet away from your iPod, unless, say, of course you plan to flush your iPod down the toilet...
That last comment was supposed to have the following link:

Those would be rockin' on my MacBook (assuming that Bluetooth 2.0 EDR supports full-fidelity stereo sound).
So, if my iPAQ has bluetooth 1.2 that supports a2dp (or whatever thats called), I can use it WITHOUT the transmitter? nice.
Do they sell some with an integrated microphone that does NOT stick out? like those moto ht820's i think.

A whole post and more than 20 comments and not a single comment made about sound quality. WTF is up with that???
How does it compare to these products?

The battery life went from 8 hours to 6 hours? ouch..
Good News: wireless headphones.
Bad News: Is that a FreePulse in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
I tried those bluetake ones and they are awful. Move your head at all and the sound cuts out.
Does anyone know if this logitech one is just a pair of headphones or a headset as well?
I've been looking for something like this for a while. Looks like it's be much more durable/comfortable than the first generation. Not sure I want to drop $100 on them yet...
Know your audience is the most important concept to remember when speaking or writing in public. You are writing on the internet, guess what? We all don't live in the US or use US dollars. Just state $100, is that so hard to make an article flow? Australia, is not the 51st state...yet.
is it possible to pair the transmitter with my lg fusic phone?
Thanks Engadget! I've been having trouble picking a pair to buy, and I'm proud to say that I just now completed my order, and will get a pair of these babies from TigerDirect.com for $87.48 (including shipping!) and will get them next Wednesday!!!
Alright, I've had 'em for a week. Here are my thoughts:
They're REALLY lightweight
They don't work perfectly with my phone, unless FULLY charged
The adapter is big
They hurt my ears after a while...
Well-worth the money. Buy from TigerDirect.com!
I also like how the adapter can be plugged in while transmitting, that's cool.
Good choice!
I have had mine for 2 weeks now and am very impressed,i don't get sore ears at all(have worn them constatly for 2-3 hours)
My only gripe is that every now and then they cut out,if only for a milisecond it's very annoying.
also not being able to use them without the adapter on the iphone.
