Sprint (finally) gets their very own RAZR V3m
It sure took them long enough, but Sprint has finally gotten around to joining the illustrious RAZR club with their new V3m. It's probably the least exciting member of their upcoming MOTO phone lineup, but the MOTORAZR is also probably one of the cheapest, at a mere $50 after $150 instant savings and a $90 mail-in rebate. Why an EV-DO phone with fancy features like Blutetooth and a 1.3 megapixel camera should have a $290 regular price is beyond us, but we're sure glad Sprint decided to sweeten the deal with arbitrary rebates and the like.

My 7 year old son wants a RAZR, now I can get him one with my plan on SPRINT! He would've gotten one on another carrier, but he didn't hit a homerun during the last little league season!!! When's this droppin'???
raulr @ Oct 25th 2006 2:13PM
"When's this droppin'???"
It's available now.
Jr. @ Oct 25th 2006 10:29PM
Hmmm...my 11 year old hit 12 home runs during last season, and two more during all-star tournaments. Needless to say, he got a Samsung A900.
starlite @ Jan 29th 2007 11:02AM
Why any 7 yo would need a cell phone is beyond me.
As far as I'm concerned, when they're old enough
to pay for it, then they're old enough to own and use one. This reminds me of the typical modern new-age parent who lets their child be the "boss" as if the child has more experience and knowledge then the parent. Well, maybe they do in some cases.
strider_mt2k @ Oct 25th 2006 1:59PM
Good luck to ya too.
It'll be breakin' when it's droppin' too, so insure it. ;)
Average Betty @ Oct 25th 2006 2:07PM
Sweet, sweet camera phones. No matter the price... still a bummer when they get stolen and they are full of photos and movies that maybe you didn't want anyone else to see. Feels like havin' your diary read in Jr. High, only worse.
Frankenstein Black @ Oct 25th 2006 3:07PM
Meh!!
Magoo @ Oct 25th 2006 3:28PM
He's pretty good with expensive electronics, he's had a PSP since day one and it's survived!!! That was more (with games and everything) than any phone, cause total, I think I've spent about $1000 on games, movies and car charger...
ja$on @ Oct 25th 2006 4:04PM
So, my 18 month old kid has a solid gold rattle and a diamond encrusted pacifier. I get him a new razr every week just cause it is the most ballin thing to do. Also, I'm sure he is better then your kid because he has nicer things then your kid.
Mrono @ Oct 25th 2006 3:38PM
Your son is also spoiled, it will be interestering to see how he grows up...
Zack @ Oct 25th 2006 3:41PM
Is there anyway you will be able to use your everday run of the mill Razor on Sprint now that they are taking them up? Any thoughts?
Farris @ Oct 25th 2006 3:40PM
I have a question about the rebates. Why do they have an "instant rebate?" Why not just subtract $150 from the initial price of the phone and save some ink? I guess that if it is with a plan, it makes sense, but still.
Also, Magoo, my 12 year old brother has a RAZR that he got overseas (Quad-band), and he loves it! I say go for it (getting it for your son).

"lol too funny! i agree, who gets their seven year old expensive electronics which most of us ADULTS cannot afford?"
I believe Magoo does, and I think it's his choice how to raise his kid. Once you've got kids, or if you already do, you can raise them how you want. If he chooses to give his child a plethora of fancy electronics, he can do so, if he can afford it. Whether you can afford it or not probably is not part of his decision making.
katrinalee48 @ Oct 25th 2006 5:14PM
So, since it's a Sprint phone will it work with Nextel service? I don't understand that merge since most of the phones aren't interchangable?!?!
Magoo @ Oct 26th 2006 2:23AM
My fault, didn't describe the reasoning behind him and his love for a RAZR! He wanted a cell phone before the season started. As a means of giving him something to work towards, I said if he hit a home run, I'd get him the phone of his choice, which was and still is a RAZR. I just thought it would be good to give him a goal to work towards... If I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't have made it an option, because that would make me irresponsible. If he's spoiled, please don't look at my two other kids then, who are 3 and 10 months, cause they are worse off than he was at their ages... BTW, I've seen younger kids than mine, walking around with Sidekicks and cell phones period, what would you say about those kids???
Kaizen Maven @ Oct 26th 2006 10:47AM
No disrespect to u Magoo, I have a kid of my own also. I understand your "want" to give him a goal to reach toward, but come on..a cell phone.
7 yr olds don't need a cell phone, PERIOD. He need to work toward getting something for his age range. On boxes of toys, they usually have (Ages 6+).
Besides who is he going to call. I can understand getting him on of those phones that lets you call the house, 911, or the parents, but a RAZOR.
And if there are kids younger then 7 that have cell phones and sidekicks, then help us all. What is the u.s. coming to.
Lee @ Oct 26th 2006 6:43PM
Ya'll need to chill on Magoo! I mean, times are changing. I didn't have a cell phone when I was seven, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let my kid out of the house these days without a way to contact me. And what's so bad about getting him something he actually likes? Isn't he more likely to take care of it because it's "cool?" It doesn't matter how much stuff you get your kid, or how little, there is a ton more to parenting than that. Period. So, Magoo, props for getting your kid into sports, props for being on Sprint (I work for them ^_^), and don't let these haters get you down!
And now, to answer some questions. First, you cannot use your run-o'-the-mill RAZR on Sprint's network. More than likely, yours is a GSM phone, and is incompatible with Sprint's CDMA PCS network. Different bands, man. And second, just because a phone is out for Sprint doesn't mean it will work on Nextel. Believe it or not, they are on different networks as well! Nextel uses iDEN. Well, and in some places TDMA. But that's a lot of explaining.
cristi @ Oct 28th 2006 10:34AM
I just want to say I am glad that sprint decided to jump on the band wagon of letting some type of razor phone on their network. I love the razor but sprint never had offered it. I just think they finally realized that unlike alot of phones it has stayed around and popular so they were losing money. I know I almost switched carriers because alot of sprint phones are junk.
Brad @ Nov 6th 2006 12:01PM
Has anyone been able to enable pop or imap email on the Sprint Razr?
GigermUnit @ Nov 11th 2006 8:30PM
My dad just bought me and my one of these i got this one and my mom got the (RED) version,i used to hate this phone due to the stupid hump at the bottom since my friend had his from t-mobile and his hump didnt do anything but since i got mine from sprint it's a extremely load speaker i love this phone and i was surprised to see that it has a built in mp3 player!
Mike @ Nov 12th 2006 12:17PM
Ummm how much does it cost now without new plan ?
jenny @ Nov 17th 2006 6:13PM
i have this phone and i dont like it. It is crappy. it is really slow. i have had many sprint phones and this is the worst phone i have ever had. It is slow. I juts got the phone yesterday and it suxs
Linda Caffy @ Nov 25th 2007 10:53AM
Jenny, do you like the phone any better than on the 11/17 or does it still stink. Oh, no. Linda
Linda Caffy @ Nov 24th 2007 2:51AM
Oh no, Jenny on 11/17 says the phone is really slow & the worst phone she ever had. I hate all of my past sprint phones too. I haven't got it yet. Anyway, anyone that has this phone and a child they gave it to; needs to pay the $9.95 fee to track your kids whereabouts. I think that in itself is an assume feature. I hope all you parents add that to your plan just in case someone steals your child or if fact an adult loved one too. Parents you can not buy love with stuff. You need to spend quality time with them and teach them about things that matter. Get them a walkie talkie if you don't have the money for large phone bills they may incur. Me and mine use walkie talkie's everywhere we go. They are assume. What not sophisticated enough? Also it's a good idea to have them do chores and keep up with school grades and having wholesome recreation without the promise of high tech stuff that will snatch all their interest; so they don't have any other interests. These games become their world and then Satan has them and they don't care about squat. That's what is going on out there. There are scriptures saying such things in Gods' word. In the end there will be lack of any natural affection. These are the signs.
Linda Caffy @ Nov 24th 2007 2:59AM
I entered them already. See above. 11/24/07 Linda
Linda Caffy @ Nov 24th 2007 5:41PM
Okay, I hope someone tells me about the quality of the phone itself; please. Thanks.
