Frontier Kouziro launches 15.4-inch Core 2 Duo lappy
This 15.4-inch design seems pretty popular with the OEM types in Asia -- we just saw Wolf-N-Fox bust out a nearly identical model a couple of weeks ago -- but just in case you were feeling constricted by your current options for a middling Core 2 Duo boringbook, we thought we'd let you know about Frontier Kouziro's new FRNV71 BTO version of the laptop. Based on a 1.66GHz T5500 Core 2 Duo processor (there's also the FRNV11 which sports a 1.46GHz Celeron M 410 CPU), the laptop boasts of a weak sauce 1,280 x 800 display, 256MB of RAM, 60GB HDD and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. Luckily, connectivity options such as gigabit Ethernet, FireWire, a multi-card reader and ExpressCard/54 make things a bit more exciting. The price also isn't too shabby for a Japanese laptop, at 129,900 yen, about $1,106 USD.

Or you could just get a MacBook with mildly better specs (faster processor and more memory for two) for the same price. After all, what good is that "large" screen going to do you when it's the same resolution as the MacBook? 1280x800 on a 15.4 inch screen is an abomination.
Don't like OS X? Run Windows on it and save money anyway.
Incoming "Macs suck" vs "No, you suck!" debate...
Actually, maybe not, given the apparently unpopularity of this article. But give it some time. I'm sure someone will start it up again in the Comments area of the next laptop entry.

offers the same computer in the same case, everything upgradeable except the video card, unfortunately. Located in the City of Industry, CA. I am typing this on that exact computer. Except I have t2500 processors (x2), and two gig of ram.
All companies like this, Sager, Pro Star, wolf n fox, alienware, sometimes dell, and various other companies get there laptops from an OEM called Clevo who supplies laptop designs and parts to tons of companies. Thats why Sager, Pro Star, Wolf n fox, this weird thing, and alienwares all look alike cept with different emblems and in the case of alienware, a replaced lcd cover with the all famous alien head.
