Not a lot of info on this one just yet, but apparently
Sling Media's reveling CEO made a potent announcement at the recent Web 2.0 conference in San Francisco. While Sling has made
accessing your time-shifted material easier than ever -- even on a
myriad of
mobile devices --
Blake Krikorian has reportedly claimed that a deal is in the works to partner with "a major mobile carrier" here in the States. He also made note of a few European deals that were also going down, but giving
MobiTV such much-needed competition here in the US of A is certainly what's piquing our interest. mocoNews seems to feel that T-Mobile or Cingular (or
Amp'd?) could be the lucky provider to get Sling's blessing, but as of know, we're admittedly being left in the dark about exactly who's in line to seal the deal.
Last i read Sprint was in talks with sling media.

I knew they were in talks.
We all knew it wouldn't be Verizon. Everybody knows how much they hate people actually using their "unlimited" data transfer.
In case not EVERYBODY actually knew...

And what is the purpose of this really?? I hope they don't consider charging a monthly fee.
didn't you guys already report that sling was in talks with sprint. pretty poorly researched.
Slingbox is a great product that i use every day. HOWEVER, it is a workaround.. why can't comcast offer the same thing directly to their users??? so that i can get high quality direct streaming from them.. rather than using my crappy 384kbps upload speed to acheive the same thing..
rights may be the issue for comcast not being able to do that.. BUT i am doing it anyway using slingbox.. so ppl need to figure out how to do this..
I don't need another monthly fee. My Slingbox works great with my PPC-6700 on Sprint. Paid $149 for it last year, and never will get another bill from Sprint for TV. It's great.
