PNY and Olympus team up to release 2GB xD-Picture Card
If you've been holding off on picking up Fujifilm's 2GB xD card in hopes of future competition driving prices down, you're in luck. PNY is teaming up with Olympus to release a 2GB xD-picture card which can house "one thousand digital shots with a camera resolution of eight megapixels." It also touts compatibility with the "exclusive Olympus panorama option," but we're sure they're just stretching for reasons to pick this up over the much more abundant SD and CF alternatives. Regardless, if you're still in need of high-capacity xD storage, you can pick up the PNY xD-Picture Card Type M now for £61.00 ($117).

i don't use xD, but i find it outrageous that olympus forces you to use their cards to enable certain features. there's no reason you can't use the panorama feature on a third-party card; it's simply the way the card is formatted that identifies the card as an olympus brand card to the camera.
i'd consider buying a fuji f30, but it uses xD. i wish xD would die.

Or you can just pick up two of the higher speed H-type 1GB cards for $70 through Amazon. Not sure why everybody is going for these big cards these days. It just means when the card craps out it takes out more of your shots. Swapping cards every 400 pictures isn't really asking too much. If you are shooting RAW then it makes more sense, but most folks don't.

yeah, the olympus panorama function just puts up extra guide lines in order to overlap the shots. pretty useless as you have to move the camera anyway.

I bought a 2GB card for my Fuji F30; it was less than $50! Maybe I'm missing something here.
