You're totally right! Apple has NO brand-name recognition, NO experience designing functional user interfaces, and NO understanding of consumer electronic devices. This product is sure to fail!

Apple's phone, if it does come out, is not going to be the be-all-and-end-all of phones. It is simply going to be a basic phone that also has an iPod integrated into it. It's going to be for those people who like to carry both their iPod and their cellphone all the time. Personally, I am that sort of a person. As long as it has bluetooth and wifi (for song transfer) and a decent hard disk size and plays music as well as the iPod, I'll buy it.
