I'm thinking that the escape key on the bezel is supposed to be an easy way out of a program when holding it sideways in tablet mode. I have a gateway m285 convertible, and when holding it in tablet mode sideways it seems like a button there would be easier than dragging the pen up to the corner and clicking file/exit or the X.
