MSI announces M677 luxury laptop
If Tulip's high-priced luxury laptops aren't to your liking, perhaps MSI's latest bit of gadget excess will suit your style better. The Taiwanese company recently took the wraps off its M677 notebook, packing some impressive enough specs and, more importantly, an ample amount of bling to go along with 'em. The less-than-unique part of the equation includes a 15.4-inch widescreen display, AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, up to 2GB of DDR II RAM, a 5,400 rpm hard drive of unspecifed size, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics, and a 1.3 megapixel integrated webcam. But what MSI really hopes will attract your attention are the 120 pieces of genuine Austrian crystal not-so-subtly inlaid around the MSI logo. What MSI hasn't said, however, is how much of a premium that'll cost you, nor have they said when it'll actually be available -- which means that if you're really looking to impress this holiday season, you'll probably have to look elsewhere.

Where's the hobo laptop? I need a laptop for 100$

I don't think this is going to be a real good seller. The frills that a computer geek like myself needs doesn't come in the logo. It comes with actual performance. I don't think this is aimed at The Philippine market...
By the way Alex, MIT is developing a $100 laptop... here's the story

A Luxury laptop with a not-so-luxurious processor? I guess that crystal encrusted logo *IS* it's selling point. They might as well used a Sempron.

Because a laptop alone is not enticing enough to steal, you have to bling it out even more with stupid add ons.
Not that I'm some big Apple fanboy or anything, but why can't more computer makers just make simple beautiful looking computers. An all smooth aluminum or white or black enclosure without their name written all over it and product tags scattered about. With a nice hinge design and magnetic latchless seal. Smooth bottom, nice keyboard and quality materials.
It's like none of them really "get it". Simple, elegant, well made = sexy and desirable.

Great looking MSI M677 luxury laptop. I like the laptop and the configuration is very good. If the cost of the laptop is less i will by it.
