It was only a matter of time before we started to see the first wave of PS3 branded input devices, and no surprise, Logitech is leading the charge. Today they're introducing their Cordless MediaBoard keyboard for PlayStation 3, a wireless keyboard with vertical scrollbar and touchpad so you can forget stringing that mouse across the room. Although you can't exactly use it to games, it'll be available next month to sate your PS3 browsing and messaging needs for $80 -- two things sure to make Phantom weep a little harder over its
scammy little Lapboard.

so is this supposed to make me want a ps3?
Trojan @ Jan 4th 2007 1:00PM
Too bad the colours couldn't have matched the PS3... I guess that at least it's not hot "Hello Kitty" pink.

Well, I just got the diNovo edge, and its super glossy black and integrated trackpad go a lot better with the PS3 that I am using it with.
YW @ Feb 5th 2007 6:08AM
Brian - can you confirm that the diNovo Edge works fine with the PS3, both in the game OS and in Linux? I thought it was Bluetooth-based. If so I'll pick one up.
Rick Lyon @ Jan 4th 2007 6:19PM
Wireless as in BLueTooth? Doesn't say what protocol. RF, IR, BT.
Steve @ Jan 4th 2007 1:45PM
this looks soooo generic and yesterday.
Arthur Dent @ Jan 6th 2007 1:07AM
Silly question but Is there something like this for the PC?
walk2k @ Jan 4th 2007 2:22PM
No more details than that? Is it Bluetooth? Does it require a USB dongle, or did they find a way to make it work with the built-in BT (currently, BT keyboards do not work with the builtin BT, you must use the USB dongle receiever).
Mikey @ Jan 4th 2007 1:59PM
USB receiver? Why in the world is this product not bluetooth compatible? On top of that, it doesn't even mention if it will work in the Linux partition. Lame.
Andir3.0 @ Jan 4th 2007 2:09PM
It's a standard USB keyboard. As long as your Linux Distro supports USB keyboards, your fine.

I am not quite sure and I am no expert but companies usually make 3rd party accessories for OWNERS of products. They assume you already brought the product in question.
Please check your anti-Sony credentials at the door before posting next time. Maybe it won't sound so idiotic.

That is almost exactly the same keyboard i got with my Acer Aspire iDea media centre PC.

I do not understand the point of this product. Whats so special about this and our every day usb keyboards? So what if it has a touch pad, 80 dollars is ridiculous for what this does imo.
imageburn13 @ Jan 4th 2007 5:17PM
thats pretty funny, Luc van Helfteren, nice catch. Im going to assume Acer bought the rights to the design and rebranded it. (much as they do with tv's and cameras)

A keyboard to input info sure beats the stinking controller to input an email address...
The wii wins hands down in that department...
Revels @ Jan 5th 2007 10:25AM
Just the thing I was looking for yesterday - except for using with a home theatre PC setup. Are there any Bluetooth keyboards with touchpad/scrollball/pointer input out there already?
Brian @ Feb 5th 2007 10:47AM
Yes, it does work in both the game os and in linux. The one downside is that the mouse portion of the keyboard works perfect in the game-os, but not in linux. There's probably some tweak there that I don't know about. Secondly, the keyboard wont' work in-game for FPS control, but you can type messages all day long.
sadilak @ Feb 12th 2007 3:31PM
Yes there is a $200 Logitech Blutetooth Keyboard(Dinovo Edge). It has a jaw dropping look and feel to it. > . It has its own charging base etc etc. and it "supposedly" works very well with the PS3 pretty much akin to the New Ps3 based keyboard released by logitech. Am sure, the next keyboard from Logitech for the PS3 is gonna be bluetooth bases + gaming capability built into it...

Brian, do you have to use the bluetooth dongle in the usb of the PS3 for the BT link to work or does it work just from the inbuilt bluetooth on the ps3?
