Matrox DualHead2Go Digital Edition on the way
Matrox just kicked out a new version of their DualHead2Go called the DualHead2Go Digital Edition that'll let you connect two 1920 x 1200 analog or digital displays (up to 3840 x 1200 stretched across two displays) to the VGA port on your desktop or laptop. It's compatible with both Windows (2000, XP, and Vistas), as well as OS X 10.4, and should be out sometime this quarter at a retail price of $229.[Via MacMinute]

Hopefully it will actually work with the latest ATI cards - yet another thing that doesn't work with those cards, and I just got a 1950pro!!!
They couldnt think of a better name? thats just too funny
Pretty cool, but also seems pretty pricey...
Sounds like a good idea, but your laptop better have a pretty decent video card to start with to drive that kind of resolution!
This seems irrelevant for most decent desktop vidcards as it seems most come with 2 DVI or 1 DVI + 1 VGA output, but say you have a 2 DVI output card... could you use 1 of these on each output and drive 4 monitors?!?!?! Now THAT would be sweet!
Why would it have digital outputs when the input is analog? They chould just package vga to dvi converters in their old one.
VGA to DVI is process, not just a simple conversion. As since you are converting analog into digital you need a powered device. It is actually cheaper to incorporate that into the unit already. Then to have to provide two separate converting units. Then all you need is a simple and cheap DVI to VGA adapter to make the digital unit back to all analog.
