UMPC, but virtually zero info on the manufacturer. All the same, if these looks and deets are any indication, we shouldn't have long to wait for rebadges to start popping up. The US700W sports a 7-inch 800 x 470 screen, Celeron M 1.06GHz processor, a 20-60GB 1.8-inch HDD, 1.3 megapixel webcam, SD card reader, Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11b/g. While it doesn't sound near beefy enough to run Aero, you get Vista Business or Ultimate pre-installed (hooray for
Vistagami), and the 1GB of RAM should help on that front. Where it gets especially exciting is the 20.5mm thickness and 19.8 ounce weight, making it one of the slimmest and lightest products in its class. Things are also looking up in the US701 version, which includes a 2 megapixel camera, built-in SiRF Star III GPS, and a 1024 x 600 pixel display. Finally, the US702 does 'em all one better with a convertible keyboard, which boosts the overall thickness to 26mm, but is a must for certain users. Obviously, we're rather clueless in regards to price and launch date on this thing, but at least we've got a vid (after the break) to keep us occupied while we wait for this hotness to drop.

Yo, someday, when everyone has a UMPC, we'll look back at some of the first generation models (Samsung Q1, the Vaio UMPC) and laugh. Hopefully that day will come sooner than later... Until then, this one here is looking nice.

Theyre missing one of the key pieces of info, the $. This definetly is a step in the right dierction. But if there are a few other small pcs which are nice their price happens to be 1.5-2k. I will wait until its practical ~600 for me.
Almost there. Now, if they get can just make one with a touchscreen. My goodness, how tough is it to add a freaking touchscreen! Pens get lost and break easily. I stopped replacing em after my third one.

They just happen to be using a stylus to demonstrate. You could do the same demo using ones finger!

Yahsin is a Taiwanese company headquartered in Taipei. The company specializes in EMS and LED-lit LCD.

The company's name is '雅新' in Chinese or 'Ya Shin"(pronounced).
One thing the review didnt mention is that the battery time is 6 hours for the US700W model. Looks like they also have Trabsflective screen.

Earth to moron, please show me a link where it says touchscreen. I would love for it to be touchscreen but most times when a pen is used it is because it is an active digitizer. Good example is the oqo model 2 that clearly states it has touchscreen, but when you call customer service they explain that data cannot be inputed by hand. That said, I would love to be wrong and that this is indeed touchscreen.

Real computers...you know , that thing that lets you run everything you want are looking so good (VistaGami)THAT is where MY money is going , not some Steve Jobs locked-down wannabe do it all device called the ApplePhone. Now that Sprint has the USB dongle for their EVDO REV.A service , this is a Skype match made in heaven for me :)
After went thru few chinese online tech news..
- the biggest selling point of this UMPC seems to be the new technology called
"nano-superconductor cooling", which helps to cool down the machine
without using any cooling fans at all.
- the "nano-superconductor cooling" also helps to reduce the use of
battery, thus increase the "standby time" (up to 6 hrs).
- Ya Hsin is a OEM/ODM, and the UMPC will be available in Q3
- the model has a 7" display, seems like they will also do a 5".
according to their spec, it's using LED backlite for the LCD. That's one of the reason it's so slim.

Apparently they have several other models.. I can't read asian characters, but the 701 version is a tablet style with a keyboard. Take a look
Does the US in the model name suggest its coming to the US on the 7th month.
Look for it to be repackaged and really expensive tho. Wish I could buy straight from the OEM.
Dell needs to pick this up and subsidize some of the costs

It looks like the cursor doesn't move until the pen hits the lcd; maybe it's a touchscreen.
