Meizu's M8? Apple lawyers, start your engines

We're not sure if the pics above are the result of an engorged, Chinese fanboy fantasy or actual product renderings of Meizu's rumored M8. We wouldn't be surprised either way what with China-based Meizu's history of uh, Apple inspired design. Posted by a senior discussion-forum jockey on the Meizu site, the M8 is now said to measure in at a scant 57x105x11.5-mm and packs both a GSM and Chinese TD-SCDMA 3G radio, a 3.3-inch 720x480 pixel display, Bluetooth, a 3 megapixel camera, and an ARM11 CPU capable of recording video at 30fps at the device's full 720 x 480 resolution. Too good to be true? Perhaps, but if not Meizu than certainly some other nimble Chinese outfit will be unveiling their iPhone clone soon enough and likely well before the iPhone hits Asia sometime in 2008. And as we've seen, even Apple's tenacious legal team can be helpless in the face of shutting down copycats on foreign turf. Picture 'round back after the break.

I don't think this will lower the cost of the iphone at all.. Although, Jobs might go on a lawsuit against this.. Because, he likes law. (that is why they are on a law suit against the brand name "IPhone" with Cisco)

I think specs of this thing is superior to Iphone.. but, not sure if I want one...

Just want to point out a fact that the M8 project was started in 2006 and photos of the concept phone was posted on meizu's website on Jan 5, 2007, 4 days before the iPhone announcement.

Let's not forget that the main reason Apple hasn't released the iPhone yet is because the FCC hasn't approved it for sale. So while the FCC doesn't have shit in China, using any crap from another country that doesn't have FCC approval in the USA is technically illegal and hence, would need to be imported illegally. If you want to buy illegal stuff, then go ahead. Frankly I would rather the FCC didn't exist so that we can have our iPhone from Apple right now --- but then again, without the FCC we'd also have exploding consumer electronics (as if the exploding Sony-made Apple and Dell batteries weren't bad enough).

If you consider this an iPhone copy than what would the LG Prada be? When compared side by side its different. I would by this any day over the iPhone this has Windows CE 6 on it which any version of windows could beat apple any day.Apple inspired ideas? Not realy so maybe the colors are the same but Meizu does not design with apple in mind. Compare any of Meizus products to the iPod and notice a significant diference. One thing that Meizu offers that apple doesnt is Meizu listens to the owners of Meizu products and makes changes to framework according to suggestions made by members of the Meizu forum. Meizu delivers quality but not at a price totaly unresonable.

Actually,

There WAS a phone in development with iPhone features before apple even thought of the phones design, its called the openmoko and it runs linux. So for all these apple fanboys, face the facts apple CAN be wrong just like everyone else, matter of fact apple can be at times just as bad as M$, next time you defend your precious company think to yourself, Do i really want to become the corporate zombie of a pack of sceming scumbags.
