Keepin' it real fake, part XLIV: RAmos Q13 is not a nano

Apple's products certainly aren't strangers to our series of posts highlighting the tech industry's finest fakes, and although the RAmos Q13 isn't quite as absurd as previous examples -- see the Treo iPod -- the fact that the company had the cojones to release marketing shots of their device alongside the iPod it was very clearly intended to emulate assures the Q13 a place in the hall of tech infamy, and a Keepin' it real fake tag. Notably, the 1GB Q13 comes in five different colors, and is 0.1 millimeters thinner than the 2nd Generation nano: a fact that we feel RAmos is very unwise to trumpet.

I think this series is pretty full of shit. Is the Q13 advertised as an iPod Nano. If not then it is not a fake at all. From the specs it seems to be a more advanced product.

If those countires without copyright restrictons want to replicate the style of a product and call it something different and then you want to call it a ripp off. Not so much. I looks like to me that this a better product for a certian market and it is probably a hell of a lot cheaper.

Let me see if I can understand the thinking here:

The Q13 is a rectangle with a screen...the iPod nano is a rectangle with a screen...must be a knockoff!

Really though, it is probably shown next to the nano because the nano would be the leading competitor, and there are only so many shapes one can be expected to make a DAP.
