APIOTeK's VP-0002 Skype phone could be so much more
Why, oh why can't this be a wireless Skype phone? Just look at the hotness which is the APIOTeK VP-0002. Unfortunately, it's just another USB Skype handset which also manages support for MSN and Yahoo Messenger. But at just 7.5-mm thin, you betcha we'd rub up against it if only they could have cut the cord and uh, add a display and dual-mode landline support. Wait, we've seen that. See ya APIOTeK.

Oh... after reading the title of the article, I thought you were going to say it was a universal remote as well. It would nearly match my LG remote.

i'm sorry, but it looks just like a sci-fi tv remote from the eighties to me.

I love that huge APIOTEK logo on the front of the phone.

Approx same size as a 2G iPod Nano. I have one for 3 weeks now. Sound quality of the unit is good (loud without distortion) as is its solidly build metal casing (definitely can cause serious bodily harm if used as a projectile). Buttons have too little tactile feedback for my taste.

Yeah I'm not sure why you're ragging on it - besides some choices on logo, button placement I think this is a sweet wired handset - I don't need wireless or a screen when on the road.
All I want is a small handset in my bad that I can use to video call my family and stop the feedback loops.
Thanks Dixon for the review - are these easy to find in the States? I'm going to Vegas next week and San Fran after that and I hope I can find 4.

Doubt it. It took 2 weeks to be shipped from Hong Kong by USBGeek.com (I didn't know it was from HK until I received the package). http://usbgeek.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=0608
