Samsung prepping high-end M60 gaming notebook
Looks like Samsung's got another sexy laptop on display at CeBIT to go with the R70, R20, and Q45 that we saw earlier in the show, and this one is aimed squarely at gamers on the go. The company's M-series has always incorporated high-end features -- various iterations of the M55 were among the first on the market with Blu-ray and HD DVD drives -- and the upcoming M60 is no different, sporting top of the line Core 2 Duo processors, Santa Rosa chipsets, BD drives, and most importantly, DirectX 10-compatible NVIDIA cards with 512MB of video RAM. Notebook Review tells us to expect these sometime in May or June, for an as-yet-to-be-determined price.

It also seems to be sporting a solid state hard drive per the specs readout on the read link. The total hard drive space is only 33 GB, and it would seem that noone would want a gaming laptop without more than 40 GB of disk space, unless it was an SSD.
Overall, a very nice laptop with a 4.3 ranking.

4.3 out of 5?
Lucas Couvreur @ Mar 17th 2007 1:12PM
Very cool! 512Mb V-Ram
But mine is better !!
My lovely MacBook Pro 2Gb ram, 2,33Ghz C2D, 120Gb HD :D
And my MacBook Pro rating is 4.6 in Vista Ultimate ! LOL
Das @ Mar 17th 2007 1:40PM
Obviously yours is better, because PCs are for spreadsheets and work and Macs are for doing fun things like making movies and playing video games.

How do you get a none genuine copy to be genuine?
Eagle @ Mar 17th 2007 1:17PM
I love laptops but man do they ever gotta quit using that fugly silver plastic cause it ruins the whole aesthetic and move the touch pad to the top or just somewhere else cause it gets in the way when you type. If they want it to be silverish use brushed aluminum it looks so much better.
Lucas Couvreur @ Mar 17th 2007 2:01PM
Yes and the MaBook Pro is allready brushed...
@Eagle: Try to switch to Mac

Lucas -
You're a tool, and nobody cares about your Mac book. Have a nice day with your webcam, though!
Lucas Couvreur @ Mar 17th 2007 2:40PM
Lol thank you :-D
But I don't use my webcam so often...
And good luck with your Windows machines!

My Windows and Ubuntu boxes all run just fine, thank you. I enjoy building my own computers. :) Alas, they're not stylish or white. Oh well.

I have the MacBook Pro because of the specs and I got a good deal on it. I don't use Mac OSX, instead, I dualboot Ubuntu and run WINE. This allows me to have a nice laptop and play all the Windows games on it.
jbelkin @ Mar 17th 2007 4:05PM
Damn, that thing is ugly - looks like some refurbed laptop from 4 manufacturers - the only thing missing is an AMC car logo and some bondo ... specs might be nice but who would take that piece of monstrosity out of the house?
harveyhanson @ Mar 17th 2007 4:31PM
How, that thing is HUGE!!!
harveyhanson @ Mar 17th 2007 4:50PM
4.3 is the rating via Vista, it has no limit as far as I know
Eagle @ Mar 17th 2007 5:10PM
Macs are good for what they do and make you look good while doing it but they don't do everything and at this moment there really is no reason to switch to a mac when a good pc can do all the stuff macs can do and more if you know your software.
Macs also got no decent games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is also that unspoken message when you have a Mac. (Mac=Gay)
happyG @ Mar 17th 2007 8:31PM
Incidentally, the world market share of mac is roughly the same as the percentage of gay's in the world according to the statistics....that would figure.Faggoty designs for fags.
Sandeep @ Mar 17th 2007 5:44PM
hopefully it doesn't overheat like most other toshiba's I've had to service.
Mike10010100 @ Mar 17th 2007 8:35PM
Come on people, don't turn this thing into a Mac vs. PC fight, ok? lol
Anyway, anyone got some speculation on whether this thing has an SSD or not?
Mike Hains @ Mar 17th 2007 9:42PM
Wow so a Mac VS PC fight eh ? Well then, hasnt anybody realised that the intel Mac's run off the same hardware as som PC's ? I looked at my Mac book Pro's hardware, and guess what i could buy every part inside of it from my local PC store (except the lcd, mobo and case).
And yes Mac's can game (intel ones atleast), what can't game is OS X, thus why boot camp exists.

my dell 600m is overheating like a mathafaka when stressed for long time. maybe i need a change
Roger525 @ Mar 18th 2007 12:42PM
Heheh, my laptop gets slightly better grades than this one in the Experience Index.
This one gets 4,8, 4,4, 4,3, 4,6, 4,4. = 4,3
Mine scores 4,8, 4,5, 4,5, 4,4, 4,6. = 4,4
I have an Acer Aspire 5684. C2D T5600, Geforce 7600 Go 256mb, 2GB ram, 120GB HD.
Lucas Couvreur @ Mar 18th 2007 6:27PM
Hi, again
Maybe its not normal but my MacBook Pro has a rating of 4.6
Intel Core 2 Duo: 5.2...
And gaming works like a charm with BootCamp!!
Tough I only played Sims 2, lol
