Some of these antics by microsoft are somewhat hostile, and it makes it look like microsoft is scared of sony, odd behavior for them.

Jeez, they could at least have picked a decent lager instead of Fosters...if it was £146 worth of Stella or Hoegaarden that'd be more like it.

As an Australian - nobody here drinks Fosters. It's piss in a can.
If you want a good Aussie beer, go for Coopers Pale Ale, or at the very least Tooheys Extry Dry. Not that Fosters shit.

I just thought it needed to be pointed out again that the equation should be Xbox 360 + £146= the PS3

Actually, the equation is correct. MS is saying that the XBox 360 _IS_ the PS3, with an extra £143 in your pocket.
In other words, they are implying that there's no difference between the 360 and the PS3, except for the price tag.

Shame too....those PS3 owners are going to need that beer much more, once they realize how much they just shelled out for the thing.
I saw this, and decided to photoshop a stereotypical girlfriend, probably adequately labeled, in place of the PS3, maybe donning the title "You Decide 2007: Average Weekend". Unfortunately, Vista just crapped out because of activation b.s. (I even legally purchased it!) and I've been too busy with school to call up Microsoft and fix it. So no Vista means no Photoshop means I'm running Linux and using it's equivalent, The Gimp. 10 seconds into the edit I said "screw this".
Maybe I'm way off the point, but I love Microsoft's marketing stance here, wtf were they thinking with the Vista activation process?!
Sell Vista on ebay, buy XP and lots of beers :D

Regarding the G4 it's probably a hand me down. Future is always pretty good at getting the latest macs and then passes it down through the food chain - art editor - dep art ed - designer - prod ed - editor - writer etc.

Except in both pictures that's the Premium version of the console with the HDD included. Plenty of people out there (myself included) don't need the wi-fi adapter, the HD-DVD drive is not in any way necessary (especially if you don't yet care about HD movies, again myself included), and the Xbox Live subsciption is in no way mandatory, although I do think it's worth having.
Now, they did choose to use the Core price for the 360 and the more expensive version of the PS3 when saying you'd have £146 for beer, but any idiot would choose the Premium system anyway, making it $400 at most, or about £300, leaving you a handy £100 for beer if you so choose.
...Why did I want a console? I think I'll stick with my PC, thanks.

Yuck, I can't believe they'd use a shit beer like Export Gold at that Auckland Store. I'd much rather go for a Tui or DB Draught, Export Gold tastes like tobaccos ash mixed with dog piss, at least that's the impression I got when I drank it.
