Motorola just went official with four new CDMA handsets ready to hit before July: the MOTOROKR Z6m slider (left),
MOTORAZR maxx Ve clam (right), and mass market W385 and W355. First up, the RAZR maxx Ve king headed to Verizon which Moto has been
teasing us with for a few months. It's what we expected: ultra-thin, EVDO, and 2 megapixel camera with integrated music player and touch-sensitive controls. The Z6m slider (which looks like a CDMA
RIZR Z3) hopes to shake the
original (E1) ROKR's fumbled hype. The Z6m multi-modal slider packs a 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth or 3.5-mm headphone jack to get tethered, and up to 2GB of removable memory. The W385 and W355 bring multimedia on a budget with a mix of GPS location services, Bluetooth, and FM radio. Now go ahead, check the gallery for all the pics -- don't cost nothin'.

The Z6m is currently being marketed through Alltel, i own one xD
Between these and the new HTC phones, I'm not feeling like a second-class citizen for using a CDMA network. Weird.
cdma>gsm and such. do the research and get the facts. theyre all over the web. motorola phones stopped being any good at the v710. these are just a little ugly
Doesn't the Z6 use Linux for its operating system? I can't believe Verizon would let use hack their phones so easily.
Do they replace Linux with their own closed, proprietary OS?
From what it says, it doesn't specify what carrier the Z6m is going to. The pictures also don't have any markings on it to show what carrier. I think for now, we just know that the RAZR maxx Ve is going to Verizon and that is it.
thought it was going to be called rizr instead of razr
Actually, the Z6m shows CDMA 800/1900, CDMA 1X/ EV-DO, 1900 Mhz receive diversity*** so you can go ahead and put it in the Verizon/Sprint camp also. Motorola has fallen off anyway so it's really no bi loss for the rest of the GSM world, but the Z6m is an interesting phone. I hate the fact that they're going to splash that Verizon interface on there, however, becuase we all know it's running Linux, there may be a method of replaceing that interface once the open source community get's their hands on it.
does this mean i may have to wait up until july to get my hands on one of these? i went to get a new phone last month from verizon and the rep told me to wait because some guy came in with promo models and they said to expect them at the end of the month which would be next week...?
Insider info says, april 15th, for the Maxx Ve, @ hofo, 1 week prior to my new every 2, super excited thats what I am, I liked my LG 8100 but the shine's (8700) external screen is just too small. Guess time to switch, it'll be my first motorola.
does the razr maxx have 1 or 2 cameras
The maxx VE has a 2.0 megapixel camera with an autofocus lens and a continuous BRIGHT LED light (I mean really bright!) - and when the picture snaps (you press the button all the way down) the led flashes even brighter during exposure. For movies it stays on. All with one camera.
Also no more 15 second movie limits - if you have the memory card, it will record the movie! The camera with the autofocus lens is one of the maxx ve's strengths.
Weakness - still bugs in firmware - like you set the phone for 24 hour operation (e.g. 8PM is 2000) - and the dumb calendar program requires you to enter it as 08 00 PM instead of typing 2000 like the phone clock displays. Someone at mot screwed up.
