Zepto's Znote 6625WD does DX10, HSDPA, and HD DVD
Considering that Zepto isn't exactly "the name" in full-blown gaming laptops, we certainly hope this one won't turn out like ones prior, but the Znote 6625WD purportedly packs a plethora of lavish innards if it proves legitimate. The 15.4-inch machine is based around Intel's Santa Rosa, er, Centrino Pro platform, and sports a WSXGA resolution, Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 2.0, NVIDIA's 512MB GeForce Go 8600 graphics card, DirectX 10 support, an optional HD DVD writer, 802.11a/b/g/n, HSDPA compatibility, and to top things off, an HDMI output. The company will supposedly be taking customized orders in May to satisfy your wildest dreams, and while the bottom-end of the bunch could land at around "$1,100 to $1,200," we imagine that some of the aforementioned luxuries will ratchet that right on up.

actually I think zepto's lappies are quite sexy..apparently you havent seen one in real life, they're quite thin I tell you. however I agree about the keyboard, it could have been some other colour than gray..

You will probably be able to customize the keyboard. Some of the current ones offer that.

Zepto for those that know have built a very solid reputation for quality yet relatively low cost laptops. They have a good product range and great customization from their site.
Absolutely no doubt about their ability to deliver, and I'd recommend them over pretty much any other brand for quality and service. No, I don't work for them :)

Oh, and for the record (not that it's hard to guess...) www.zepto.com
They're expanding worldwide and are imo worth checking out.

wow......that's a laptop for any gamer lol, wish it was AMD Athlond Turion x2 though.

"wish it was AMD Athlond Turion x2 though"
There's no such thing as an AMD Athlon Turion X2. There's the AMD Athlon 64 X2 and the AMD Turion 64 X2, but there is no Athlon Turion. Not to mention, Core 2 Duo beats any Athlon or Turion anyday. They're more powerful, more efficient, and more reliable.

Actually i've seen a couple of them, and i would agree that bq on the new ones is fairly good, compared to the older ones, which were re-branded mitacs and were absolute shite when it came to build quality. I can't remember which chinese laptops they're re-branding now, but as i said they aren't half bad.
I guess it's just a question of taste with this one though. I really don't like it... it just looks so plasticy.

meh.. too much waisted screenspace and looks a bit bulky. I don't like it... I'd rather wait to see what ASUS or Clevo are offering.

WSXGA? Why not WUXGA? Someone please answer this question. So many "media" and "gaming" laptops dont have the full 1080p screens. They've had 1920x1200 screens out on laptops for years now.You get a 1080p HD-DVD for your HD-DVD equiped laptop and then you cant even get the full resolution of the movie. Whats up with that?
