Nokia installs clever touchscreen game to market N95
These days, it really takes something special to catch to eye of the desensitized market, and Nokia's shifting the focus back to the consumer with its lighthearted touchscreen game at a London bus stop. The interactive advertisement requests that the player flip the pockets in order to find matches, but it also insinuates that the sleek Nokia N95 smartphone is just too slim and inconspicuous to readily pick out. Of course, we highly doubt it's all that difficult to spot after a flip or two, but the idea here is novel nonetheless. If nothing else, it sure breaks up the boredom (or frustration) felt whilst waiting on the next bus, so be sure to click on through for a video of the thing so you'll know it when you cross it.[Via FreshCreation]

Do people to who ride busses use or need smartphones? seems like they are going after the wrong demographic, no? Now if the bus stop is at the airport waiting for the rental car shuttle... i'd understand...
Dude, when I worked at Northwest, I took the LRT and the bus to get to my job every day, and I'm a complete geek. I've got Engadget RSS in my Bookmarks bar, a count down to the next Galactica episode on my cell phone, iStat Pro in my Dashboard, an iPod downloading TV shows from my MythTV box, and to top things off, a Wiimote and X360 controller playing nice with my Mac. I'm looking to invest in a PDA/SmartPhone and this doesn't sound that bad.
BTW, a couple of my professors ride the bus, and it's common for Nokia's demographic to ride public transit in places where transit is done right, or is a highly complex infrastructure (IE: New York, London, Moscow, Tokyo).
See, Nokia DOES know what a touchscreen is. If only they'd come to the realization that they can also put them in their damn phones.
Touchscreens are inefficient in phones, it's that simple. Using a keypad is easier/faster for navigation, and it gives you physical feedback. I applaud their lack of touchscreens. My Nokia N80 wouldn't be half as cool if it had a touch screen.
Kenundrum, pull your head out of your ass. This is at a bus stop in London, where mass transit is the norm. Obviously you live in some car-centric American sprawlopolis and engage in all the associated prejudices.
On topic: N95 = YUMMY
Wow. Someone never played these games when they were little - talk about inefficient strategy :)
Looks like a good way to spend the time when waiting for the bus, though. Brilliant use of advertising space. I wonder how long until it gets vandalised or nicked, though.
I wonder if they have high score tables?
Google should put up a bunch of these so people can look information up on the internet while waiting for the bus/train etc :) If not a full fledged browser, it could have a built in cell phone and just send and recieve google SMS info.
*Sneeze* Where is the hand sanitizer? *Sneeze*
You know, I kind of hate people who are all obsessed over stuff like that. Not to say I hate you, but I'm taking this opportunity to point out that someone wrote a paper on our obsession with cleanliness and determined that the use of anti-bacterial soap is apparently lowering human resistance to diseases. So go ahead and touch the thing that guy sneezed on. Unless he has flesh eating bacteria, ebola, or the flu, it probably can't kill you.
What I don't understand is that the Nokia N95 is fatter and larger than my already chunky Nokia N80. The N95 is a drool worthy phone, sure, but it isn't a slim phone by any standard.

Russian roulette, anyone? Oh, and uh, please pass the hand sanitizer.
I think people will be waiting in line to play the game than actually wait for the bus. I agree with another post that Nokia has to finally start incorporating touchscreens in their phones.
