Nerdtalker, from what I've read, the GeForce 8600M is estimated to be on par with the GeForce 7900GS performance wise, so in that case, the 7950 in an XPSM1710 would still perform better (although actual DX10 games might be a different case). Note that the GeForce 8600M is more meant for 14 and 15" notebooks............ so getting 7900GS performance levels is a pretty good feat in and of itself (the 7900GS was only available in 17" notebooks).
