Uber-slim G4 Mouse slides away in your PCMCIA slot
Under normal circumstances, a palm-sized mouse with a built-in wireless transceiver is about as portable as it gets, but the G4 Mouse just showed all the other guys how a mobile mouse should be constructed. The uber-slim mousing instrument folds perfectly flat in order to fit in your PCMCIA slot when not in use, and when you're all settled, it pops out, ejects a USB cable, and folds into a more ergonomic position for all your mousing needs. Additionally, the slot card mouse comes in pink, blue, and silver colors, and it appears that you can even get a matching pouch if say, a 120GB hard drive is already occupying your PC Card slot. The 800 DPI mouse boasts a left / right click and a touch-sensitive scroll wheel, touts Windows compatibility, and will run you a respectable ?46,500 (or about $50). Click through for a couple more snaps.

Makes me wish I would have not bought the mogo.
Haha, sorry cosmos. I hit reload on the main page and a new artical was up so i sniped it. Sweeeeet
HP has had something similar on the market for a few months...
Nice. Why hadn't anyone think about this?
Cool idea. Unless it's made out of metal, though, that spin-turn mechanism isn't going to last very long.
Imagine one of those made for an ExpressCard slot.
Does anyone even have PCMCIA slots anymore? I thought ExpressCard was where it's at!
Also, this isn't the first. As Dustin Frazier mentioned, the MoGo was the first one. And the MoGo even has bluetooth instead of a usb cable. Mogo: http://www.gadgetreview.com/2006/01/mogo-mousebt-bluetooth-pcmcia-sized.html
And to add to my previous comment, the MoGo was featured on Engadget awhile back too.

My laptop came with both.... However my PCMCIA slot has the Remote for my Laptop in it. lol
It just seems odd when all new laptops come with at least one ExpressCard slot, and many don't have PCMCIA cardslots, that people would still be making stuff for the older, less common slot.
Well, Devices for the Express Slot are really expensive! I mean why would I ay $80.00 for an Express Slot serial port, when a USB one is only $25.00! And the same goes for the Card Readers, And other stuff I have seen for the Express Slot. And most of those devices would not really preform any better than a USB or PCMCIA version!
Don't bring USB into this. It's unrelated. I'm just saying PCMCIA is being 'phased out' of notebook design, due to the older hardware, and slower speeds. It makes sense to design a product that's as future-compatible as possible.
Um, aren't you linking to an article where the company expressly denies in your comment section that the product wasn't announced, and a quick visit to their website shows NO products, or even future products that fit the bill of a 120 GB PCMIA NAND-Flash hard drive??
That seems a little low-rent on the reporting side Engadget, I usually expect more from y'all; you're well respected blogger-journalists after all.
@ Adam the Great: Uh.. I visited their site, and it seems full of their product! Also, the "Where to buy" link had a fair number of retailers. Try the [Via CacheYourCash] link first, then the [SlimG4] link at the bottom of that page.
Sorry I guess our communication got mixed up.
Follow the link the in the story for the 120 GB Flash hard drive for the PCMIA slot, and then try and find that product, the one from Stealth Technologies.
In the comments section, someone claiming to be with the company denies that they have a product like that, and if you visit their website, there's nothing that corroborates the story. It's not been retracted, and worse it's included as a link in a current story (this one, about the product that does exist).
I'm definately getting one!!! Unlike the Mogo, it has more volume! So gripping won't be so awkward..
Here's a link with more details(but it's in Korean):

That mouse looks mighty uncomfortable. Then again, all travel mice are.
I actually thought of this like two years ago. But there were already patents in my way..
Interesting, but like the MoGo I want to try it before I buy it. That design might be just too unfomfortable. Though, if it feels right it would be great.
And about that ExpressCard comments. Maybe PCMCIA is being phased out, but there are a lot of laptops with PCMCIA out there, and there are still lots of laptops being sold with PCMCIA, so keep the hype down. It's not going to die soon.
Very spiffy indeed, but for extended trips I'd still want a near-full size mouse.
um, no thanks. i am one of those lucky people who are able to use trackpads. i know, i know... for all you other folks out there this is fabulous + i am happy for you.
The mogo is a great mouse, but the version I have does not have the scroll feature in the middle. Mogo is releasing an express version with scroll. After looking at this mouse a bit further, I think I may like the mogo better after all. This mouse seems good for work, but not ergonomic for gaming, something the mogo has done well at so far (counterstrike).
Once again, people fail to use the German word “uber” properly. “Over-slim” indeed... just doesn’t sound right to me.
I have a video of my Slim G4 and how much of a pain in the butt it is to open it up and put it back together.

Compared to the Targus travel mouse, it loses every time...
