Evesham intros C515SR and C535S Santa Rosa-based laptops

Proving that the Santa Rosa craziness extends across the pond, U.K.-based manufacturer Evesham has introduced the first of its laptops based on the platform, rolling out the C515SR and C535SR today. The slightly lower-end of the two, the C515SR packs a 15.4-inch WXGA display, along with a T7100 Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB of RAM, an 80GB hard drive, built-in 802.11a/g/n WiFi, and a dual layer DVD-RW drive. Taking things up a notch, the C535SR packs the same display but upgrades the processor to a T7500, adds NVIDIA 8600 graphics (as opposed to the standard Intel business on the C515SR), ups the RAM to 2GB, and increases the hard drive to 120GB. Both can also be customized further to suit your liking. Those in the U.K. can snap up either one of 'em now, with the C515SR starting at £699 ($1,380) and the C535SR coming in at £849 ($1680) for the base configuration.

So, is that "Eve's Ham", "Eves Ham", or "Eve Sham"? How ought one be pronouncing that?
Dan @ May 11th 2007 7:27AM
That would be Eev-shum.

e-vuh-SHAM, E-ve-SHAM, ev-eh-SHAM, Just remember the important part "SHAM"
Until eveSHAM makes good on the warranty for the last product I bought from them, I must warn;
eveSHAM does not honor it's warranties and is horrible to deal with. They have no US presence and no contact info. Once their tech support (outsourced to a Caleris call center) decides to ignore you, you are just dead in the water.
Do yourself a huge favor and avoid eveSHAM no matter how cheap the product is.

Ooo new innards.
The same worlds most boring, suicide inducing package though.

I don't know why Mr. Melanson feel it prudent to list the processor model, but not the speed.
T7100 = 1.80GHz w/2MB L2 cache
T7500 = 2.20GHz w/4MB L2 cache
The entire Santa Rosa line is 65nm w/an 800MHz FSB
After looking at the AnandTech reviews, don't go out of your way to purchase a Santa Rosa based machine because of the "Robson" NANd caching. It apparently did absolutely no good. Intel claims it's an issue with the tested hardware's MoBo firmware. I'm guessing it won't be the last to need some work implementing this new technology.
