BenQ rolls out Santa Rosa-based Joybook S41
BenQ isn't going as all out as some companies in jumping on the Santa Rosa bandwagon, but it's not entirely missing out on the action either, trotting out its new Joybook S41 series laptop while the going's still good. This one looks to fall squarely in the middle of the Santa Rosa pack, boasting a 14.1-inch widescreen display, a T7100 Core 2 Duo processor, up to 2GB of RAM, a max 160GB hard drive, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics, built-in 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, and an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, among other standard fare. BenQ has managed to squeeze in a few things to help it stand out from the crowd, however, most notably an HDMI output and a still-less-common-than-it-should-be ExpressCard slot. No word on price, unfortunately, although it should be available sometime this month.

"Joybook?" Does it have pictures of naked ladies pre-downloaded or something?
wtf? hdmi out?
Why buy an HTPC when you could get one of these? lol
It would be like taking your home theatre with you on the plane :)
This certainly looks like it upstages some of the competition, especially with the combo of HDMI and an 8600m. It definitely needs a faster CPU than the T7100 (I'm sure it's upgradable), but the rest of those specs look sweet. Add a 7200rpm HD and some 800MHz DDR2 down the road, and this ought to be at the top of the Santa Rosa heap.
I read this as $41 and almost shat my pants.
WOW! If the price is right and the reviews are good - this laptop will be seeing my college next semester :)
very nice looking, hope they make a 12.1 inch version
This is by far the best Santa Rosa to be launched laptop IMO.
It has a great video card, and just the right size for travel.
I think it's the best fit for me, a college student, who would like to carry the laptop to class/library, while still being able to play some games !
BTW, it's $1,249
will it be available in the U.S.?
just brougt one and fu*k me its impresive runs all my music production and 3d rendering programs with ease!! top noch every thing except for the speakers so buy good headphones or speakers
