Well really... it was a movement in the early industrialisation of Europe that opposed further mechanisation of the production process for fear of eliminating jobs. However, I'll accept your laymen's definition.
Are you saying that the person in question opposed technological change simply because he disliked technical discourse surrounding technology? Glib he might be, but he is certainly no Luddite.
I really do dislike people using words they don't actually understand.
