Britax unveils speaker-packed car seat to rock baby asleep
Let's face it, it's not exactly feasible (or safe) to rock the kid to sleep whilst manning the wheel down I-5, which is why you should seriously look Britax's way for your next baby-related purchase. This luxurious car seat reportedly sports a "Reflection Sound System" that cranks out tunes around the infant's head, and while we all know it's just a ploy to keep the youngster from wailing any longer, the manufacturer is boasting about the mental benefits of piping Bach into your kiddo's brain at an early age. Portable sounds aren't the only thing it's got going for it, however, as the safety factor is also pretty high considering the well-padded surroundings, height adjustable head guard, automatic shoulder belt adjusting device, and a soft mat on the bottom to protect your whip's interior. Click on through for another snapshot while you mull over the ?710,000 ($767) pricetag -- hey, there's only 364 days 'til Mother's Day, right?

put on "The Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round" and GET THE HELL OUT OF MY FACE !

Why can't parents rock their own baby to sleep? A lot of these gadgets just seem to be distancing parents from their children. Also, couldn't you just buy a Bach CD and play that in the room, saving yourself a wad of cash?

S.Brown - it's a CAR seat, for when you are DRIVING!

Your telling me you can't drive AND rock your child to sleep at the same time? :P
Well you can still put a Bach CD in anyway.

Ok, I knew some people don't bother to read the articles, but to comment without even reading the TITLE???

what we need are monitors on baby seats that tell their parents that they locked their child in the car.

I agree w/ S. Brown.... there are a lot of new devices on the market that does allows the parents to spend less time with their kids. This one however is a Godsend. I wish that I had one when my son was a baby. Driving down the freeway with an infant crying in the backseat is never easy.

I own 4 Britax's and would never buy anything else, but this system is way overboard.
For some reason I envision the Jones couples(usually the worst of the parenting world)having to own this. Also a commercial comes to mind..a commercial by Home depot or lowes that has to suburban massively in debt morons fighting over whom has the biggest BBQ and deck for their backyard.
Hint: If you don't currently have a positive net worth don;t buy this, it's not worth it. Start a college fund for the kid!
First of all the car itself 9/10's of the time is rocking the kid to sleep.
Second 99.5% of vehicles have some sort of sound system; play the kids music and stop being a blind selfish parent.

@Christie,
"Driving down the freeway with an infant crying in the backseat is never easy."
That's why God created DVD players for the car and Blue's Clues DVDs.

for older children, there has been a Recaro model with speakers before; and not that expensive (I think we paid 250 Euro):

you actually don't hear the sound from the front; it is more like open headphones. wirks very well; our daughter can hear her stories/music from the ipod, while we don't have to hear them, again, for the 100th time ... but still able to communicate.
