Philips' GoGear SA6045: out with the new, in with the old
It's been awhile since we've seen a new Philips GoGear device 'round here. Now this, the 1GB SA6015, 2GB SA6025, and 4GB SA6045 flash-based players. All pack a 65k color, 320 x 240 pixel 2.2-inch LCD, FM tuner, voice recorder, and support for MP3, DRM'd WMA, and up to 4-hours of WMV video playback per charge. Interestingly, they've ditched the touch controls from their more recent DAPs in favor of a new "SuperScroll" controller. My, how 20th century of you Philips. All are available now from the usual retail outlets where the 4GB model will demand about $128.

:(
Hey! It's a rectangle! With a circle-button thing-y! iPod ripoff! iPod ripoff!
(Look! It even has earbuds! two of them!!)
Wow, engadget, you are way behind. Wal Mart has had this for weeks and there is a 4 gb 6045 that isn't even mentioned in this story. I have one of these and the video is great (30 fps) and the audio is great. It has an on the go playlist feature, radio, and voice recorder. It's the best MP3 I have ever bought.
I'd definitely spend my $128 on something else....like a down payment on a PS3. Ha!
Output Power : 2 x 3mW
THD : 1%
--------
This meagre output and high distortion, coupled with just another uninspired Windows Media/MP3 player that requires XP and/or Vista. We can get far higher output and more format (and operating system) support with your competitors, Philips.
Tho it's nice to see tactile buttons make a sensible comeback
I have got one, easy to use. Good video quality - WMV9 is still better than MPEG4. Sound quality is good. And doesn't burn a hole in the wallet.
best lil mp3/video/recorder/fm radio!!!!
i just wish there was a way that you could switch it vertically:( other than that the sound quality is great and the video is pretty good for 120 dollers.it also includes the software from arcsoft that converts mpeg4 and other video formats to WMV.could have spent 150 on a nano but im sooo glad i didnt.
$99 for the 8gb version @ walmart ---
yes i will buy tonight :)
