SiriusXM ain't it for new radio, folks, don't discount
HD radio. Well, Sony hasn't anyway, what with its fresh new XDR-S3HD and XT-100HD HD radios. The classic looking XDR-S3HD table radio does AM / FM and HD with a backlit LCD display; it'll run you $200 in July. The XT-100HD is intended for your car, jacks into your Sony head unit and feeds track info; it'll run you $100 in July. Click on for a pic of the 100HD, car radio nuts.

the respect i had looking at that four letter name isnt the same anymore as it was 4yrs back.
I cant see Sony as a reliable company anymore after all the heat that has been with that name. I admit, their product sure looks nice, but i dont know what/how they are built from inside and their/reliability. and as far as i still know, Sony tech supp is nothing!

$100 for a car stereo tuner add on? Seems a bit much, but I really can't say what the going rate is for HD tuner add ons.

"Who listens to radio anymore"? About 270 million people every week, according to Arbitron...almost exactly the same as a decade ago. Time spent listening IS DOWN (duh...it's down for all media, THERE'S MORE MEDIA), but almost nobody has abandoned terrestrial radio entirely.
