Apple iPod hacked into iTop handheld

We've seen a plethora of devices that seem to convert your iPod into a laptop of sorts without voiding the warranty, but after you've broken the screen and have nothing to lose, why spend money on a pre-fabricated alternative? The iTop is essentially a hacked iPod that now resembles a white MacBook in some strange parallel universe, and while it's definitely a stretch to deem this thing an iPod laptop, it can reportedly run a full build of Linux. Of course, the protruding hard drive may detract from the overall appearance, but at least it performs the task of holding the device upright whilst sitting. Unfortunately, there aren't too many details to assist those who'd like to replicate this feat, but click on through for a few more snaps of this bizarre creation.

Why would Apple's lawyers file a lawsuit because some guy bent his iPod in half and installed Linux? That's like saying GM would sue someone for doing bodywork and modifying the engine on a Corvette.

Haha. This thing spread fast. It isn't really a laptop, I acknowledge that. Regardless, it is cool.

And it allows one to watch videos, with the iPod on a table, the lack of which has always pissed me off.
